Lowry Available!
Apparently Lowry has been made available by the Raptors. What do you all think it would take to get him, and what would you all be willing to give up to get him?

Mo Williams, Earl Watson, and 2 2013 2nd round picks and 2014 2nd round pick.
Or Utah out: Mo Williams, GSW 1st, and UTA 2013 2nd
Utah in: Vasquez
Tor out: Lowry
Tor in: Mo Williams and GSW 1st
NOH out: Vasquez
NOH in: Lowry, and UTA 2013 2nd
Role players will have to be thrown in to make it work.

Re: Lowry Available!
That might be grossly undervaluing both Lowry and Vasquez. Mo Williams is not on their level AND he is out for another month or two. I'm sure whoever ends up with Lowry is going to have to take on Bargnani as well.
What about....
Torronto out- Lowry/Fields/Bargnani
Toronto in- Pau Gasol
Lakers out- Pau Gasol
Lakers in- Bargnani/Mo Williams/Raja Bell
Jazz out- Mo Williams/Raja Bell
Jazz in- Lowry/Fields
Toronto gets Gasol whom they have long coveted while also ridding themselves of Bargs and Fields contracts. It costs them Lowry, but Calderon is playing impressive ball anyhow.
Lakers move Gasol for a younger stretch big to play in D'Antoni's system, a backup PG in Mo and also Raja who they seem to have interest in for some reason.
Jazz get their young PG, but they have to take on the underwhelming contract of Landry Fields in return.
I'd imagine some picks would have to be moved around, but the basic framework is there.

Yeah, Lowry and Vasquez are both excellent point guards and I'd take either over Williams. I'm sure Millsap could be worked in somehow.

I'm really not that crazy about Lowry. Vasquez, on the other hand? Sign me up if that were ever possible.

If they are looking to trade him half a season after acquiring him than I think that's pretty telling. That team runs way better with Calderon.

The toronto raptors are pretty screwed regardless so Lowry being available doesn't really say much. They need youth/picks to develop while they wait out some crappy contracts. If I was the Raptors I'd ask for Bell, 1st rounder, & rights to Tomic. But that would involve the Raptors making smart decisions... so maybe you could steal lowry.

Usually, I'd make a "Toronto blocks our number" comment, but it is BC, I guess...

Well, I thought we would try and get a new PG in the draft??
But I don't see Jazz doing anything. Maybe offer up Mo/Raja/Watson, and that 2 round pick or something. Next to them, Marvin is the only one I wouldn't miss.

Marvin hasn't been all that effective in Jazz system, and his minutes could be shard between Hayward and Carroll (and Klieza if necessary) without much of a drop off.
Lakers get size and outside shooting in Marvin and Bargs and unclog their paint/bench.
I've read that Toronto would like Pau and no longer wants Lowry. Lowry could be a concern for Jazz, but has a non-guaranteed next year, so Jazz could dump him if chemistry or other issues arise the last few months of this year.

Re: Lowry Available!
Lakers wouldn't do that in a million years. Bargs would be a good fit there with Dwight, but they can get way more value.

Re: Lowry Available!
I don't know if Lowry would work here, I mean why would they pick Calderon over him? I would like to keep Tinsley at starter, and get us a teen pick in the draft, like if we got Carter Williams that would be awesome. But even a McCollum would be cool.
OR
Put Tinsley back on bench, and get ourselves a young guy like Lowry who can become our new starting PG. I mean we have no chance with teams who have Westbrook, Paul, Parker, Lawson, Curry, Conley, Lin, Lillard and then there is Tinsley......We are totally out of range at this position.
I believe we have all the elements. We just need a PG, who can keep this team in order every night. Someone to hold us up and keep us winning, like how CP3 held LAC through December. I mean Jefferson/Millsap/Foye are all equals to their competitors on the floor(much closer than our PG). Our bench SF and 3rd String SF is better than our starting SF in Marvin. We seriously need to trade Marvin, put Hayward at starter and put Carroll on full time bench with Favors and Kanter(this would be some tough defense). Everyone on our bench would have instantly been on starters this year for any other team, but in the end we still lack a PG right now, especially @bench.

Re: Lowry Available!
Lowry is a great defender and an all around point guard. He just needs a team that can decide on him. Give him the keys, let him know he isn't going to be replaced by a lesser player (dragic, calderon)

Re: Lowry Available!
Lowry is like a younger version of Mo williams ... keep him away from this team. His defense is overrated, he fouls too much, he's an erratic chucker, has very little pg skills, ect..... Even tho he can produce, his numbers are decieving and he can often hurt the glow of the offense ala Mo williams. He got ran out of Memphis, Houston and soon to be toronto for a reason. Don't be fooled.
We need either a game managing pg or a pass first pg, not a chucking pg.

The draft isn't star studded at the top but there will be some decent talent that falls to that pick. Plus Tomic is the best young center in Europe. Plus some salary relief by picking up Bell and on top of that buying him out. Seems reasonable for a young team waiting out some bad contracts (bad GM decisions)
Another reason they don't want to move Calderon is that he is already expiring. No need to trade him as he's about to be off the books. Moving Lowry makes sense but you have to be realistic about his value. Same with Andy on the Cavs they over valued him and what he was doing on a bad team.

Tomic is locked into a long-term deal and there's next to no chance of him coming over, as far as I can tell.

It would be above the 500kish buyout but it could be done. Rare talent on display in Spain right now. Worth a million to get it done.

If Toronto is already ready to get rid of Lowry, then it is starting to raise some red flags in my mind.
