Rival Execs Speculate About Rudy Gay Ending Up With Lakers

The Boston Celtics have held exploratory trade talks with the Memphis Grizzlies on Rudy Gay.

More than one team has speculated that a three-way trade that would send Pau Gasol to the Celtics, Paul Pierce to the Grizzlies and Rudy Gay to the Lakers makes "some sense".

Pierce's $15.3 million salary for next season is guaranteed for only $5 million, which would make his contract tradable.

let me guess, the Lakers will also receive 3 unprotected 1st round picks as well?

Of course they will! They have to recoup the picks they gave up for Steve Nash!

Did the Magic just keep Harrington out until we passed over 41 games, now he's back and insurance is paying his salary, right? If that's true, I suspect no more delays on his progress, they will plan to showcase him now and see if he's worth keeping.

Boston gets screwed talent and salarywise.

What's the point of trading Pierce for Gasol? Doesn't make them any better.

I do not think anyone is going to take him because there will not be enough time to see consistent play. I think if he is traded it will be in the offseason.

There's almost a whole month still. It just depends on how rusty he is but he will get his opportunity. If that's the case, Nicholson needs to be prepared for a ton of DNP-CD's soon.

that really just equates to Memphis trading Gay for an expiring, right?

certainly we could offer them Hedo + McBob for Gay? they may not get the same value from Pierce in terms of talent, but they don't need it because they won't be in a position to win it all, and they'd get the expirings for next season.

we would just need to find another team that's willing to take Gay/Pau in exchange for picks/youth...

I did forget Al is here for a few more years perhaps, but I still think their goal is to move him. If he's healthy, he's valuable to a contender who needs vets and some bench production.

Was watching Channel 6 News (the home of Pingalore) and they reported that JJ Redick has a case of beiber fever... They saw him at a Justin beiber concert last night and said he was only there because he wife wanted to go...

So I ask you magic fans, do we trade him now because of these turns of events?

His stock just took a hit. Might as well keep him now.

“A happy wife is a happy life,” J.J. said after the Magic finished practice today.

“I have a general rule that if I have an off-day during the season that I owe it to her to do what she wants unless it’s harmful to my well-being. Her and her friends wanted to go.”

He looked thrilled before the concert

Bobcats, Wizards, and Cavs all win today, and the Suns are keeping it close and may win
