Dear Gerald Wallace, the day Keith Bogans becomes a bigger offensive threat than you, is the day you need to look in the mirror and slap yourself.

Haha totally

We can't keep defenders infront of us. Lopez and humphries bail out our perimeter defender by blocking shots but lets face it, our guys can't keep a man infront of them and we are terrible at defending the pick and roll.

If guys aren't willing to fight through screens and try to keep themselves between their assignment and the basket, there's a serious problem there.

thasts just it... we are forced to switch or scramble horribly on pretty much every single pick and roll. its epically bad how poorly we play it.

to make matters worse, lopez ALWAYS helps...dont get me wrong, alot of the time he should help, but he also always helps in situations he shouldnt help at all in, or should at least hedge in, usually leading to his man getting an easy dunk.

we need an elite defender in this starting lineup to really help change that

this makes me feel worse, we should have picked up a game on all of them.

We are a much more talented team then the rockets. we came off a blowout. if we brought our A game, we win. but instead we brought the same D+ effort we have the past week and a half.

my fear si we bring a D+ effort to orlando and win, which makes everyone think all is peachy before getting blow out the next 3 games by good teams

Might as well have an offensively competent lineup. And playing Tele and Lopez is pretty much a must if you have Wallace out there, considering how much of an offensive liability he is nowadays. Playing Evans/Hump with Wallace means we play 3 on 5 offensively, with no defensive benefits, since our worst defenders the last couple of games have been Humphries and Evans.

Tele actually hasn't been that bad defensively. He's pretty active, and he's actually aware of rotations, unlike Hump and Evans.

i agree on everything else, but im nto sure we are watching the same games if you think teletovic's defense has been anything but subpar, to say the least. he has gotten lost on the PnR at an alarming rate

onyl watched a little of the game last night and the only thing I took from it was that the Nets are in love with shooting the 3 ball and seem afraid to drive and try to make contact. Wallace is the only one that does it.

And it seems like Asik and Gasol owned Lopez both nights.

Nets went away from what got them wins against the Knicks and Wolves. But again, I'm not too worried. However, a positive was seeing Deron shoot the ball like his old self.

Asik didn't own Lopez.

He defended him relatively well, Asik made a number of crazy circus shots man to man in the post and then Nets perimeter players and awful switches left Lopez on an island over and over in the pick and roll either leaving Asik with no within 4 feet of him right under the basket as a secondary finisher after Brook had to rotate in a panic or all alone to scoop the offensive rebound or loose ball for a put back.

Ironically Houston used the pick and roll to perfection a lot of the night yet Lopez was dare I say nearly fantastic covering it on 85% + of the times it was ran. The other bigs on this team are just awful on rotations and the perimeter players can't stay in front of a chair and have serious issues with the simplest of defensive concepts and instead funnel the ball handler directly to the dead center of the paint with a controlled head of steam after they blaze past from up top.

I don't expect a top defense or even a really good one, but we've seemed to regress to an actual awful defense lately and the offense isn't clicking enough in combination with PJ's horrendous substitution patterns and the overall crappy personnel off the bench to make up for it.

The last 2 games has just proved that we don't deserve to have anyone go to the Allstar game... Coach included!!
