Raptors would rather trade Lowry than Calderon?

Post#1 » by vic » Sat Jan 26, 2013 6:56 pm

You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

They gave up a 1st rounder for him. How are they gonna swallow that bullet and trade him half way through the season?

Lowry is a top 3 defender PG and is a triple double treat every single game. He is young enough to go with Monroe/Drummond for the next few years so if he is acquirable without send Monroe or Drummond we must go after him.

We need a PG Lowry would be my 1st choice, Bledsoe my 2nd and Sessions my 3rd. If we get a good PG we'll instantly be a playoff caliber team.

If we get an above average SG after we get a PG we'd be a home court advantage team in the East.

I agree we have Knight, but Lowry is a bulldog...I live in Houston and I watch the Rockets play as much as I watch the Pistons play...Lowry is seriously a tough a player and he would be a good mentor for Knight for one or two seasons...Lowry's toughness doesn't match the Raptors friendliness, that's why he isn't making any friends in Toronto...

I like Lowry but I'd rather just stick with Knight. I really like what I've seen from him since that London stinker. His defensive intensity has been fantastic and he has been good running the offense and picking his spots. Our assets should be going towards acquiring a SG.

The best I can do:

Pistons in: Lowry, Fields, Amir Johnson, Linas Kleiza

Raptors in: Stuckey, Maxiell, Bynum, Daye

Lowry
Knight/Fields
Prince/Singler/Jerebko
Monroe/Amir Johnson/Kleiza
Drummond/Krav

Plus draft pick and $10+ mil in cap room depending on the ability to dump any contracts.

Seriously. His best games have been when he has the ball and attacks the rim off the dribble in transition and P&R. We need to put this Knight at SG stuff to rest.

The amount of hate for Knight here is the reason I don't post here much. Just ridiculous.

He's supposed to be Chris Paul by now.

CP3 is an unfair comparison but it would be nice if he atleast wasn't the worst starting PG in the league.

idk but i'd still give knight one more season to show if he'll be a good POINT guard for us, the stuckey at pg experiment was a piece of crap (we could've had lawson, holiday etc.) so we should be wary of knight's development

Knight is only in his 2nd season and is only 20 years old. He's not a dumb kid either, he will figure out how to be a PG. Probably should try to get a vet back up that knows how to play PG to help him even more.

It's a no-brainer. Lowry is an upgrade you do if you have a chance. Anybody other than Drummond & Monroe is expendable... Immediately you have a real Big Three. Lowry is a triple double pg that's in his best season statistically. Defensively he's a beast, his eFG and 3 point shooting is at its peak. Over 2/1 assist/to ratio

No brainer
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

We need another PG to mentor Knight or at the very least lead him by example. Knight isn't learning anything about running an offense from Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey. People that cry about "hating on Knight" every time another PG is brought up need to realize that. The same people that cry about it typically use the Chauncey example of how a PG can evolve and Knight will just randomly out of the blue get it. Those people fail to acknowledge that he grew into that PG after spending a year backing up and being mentored by Terrell Brandon. If you don't have a natural feel for the PG position once you reach the NBA you need guidance to make it happen. Everyone on this board should be all about trading for another PG as long as it doesn't cost us Dre, Moose, or a draft pick because it would benefit Knight.

When I said that last season I was insulted so hard last season. I'm glad Knight is not being treated as a Golden Boy anymore, I hope he succeed and end up being a Hall of Fame PG, but he is hurting us badly and we need a starter PG urgent.

I hope our FO change their minds as well and bring in a PG at this season's deadline.

Knight needs a coach like Larry Brown or a mentor like Chauncey Billups

I'd add Lowry but my offer would be Rodney Stuckey and Khris Middleton for Kyle Lowry and Linus Kleiza. Stuckey is about the same value wise as Lowry. The stats are close. Middleton was thought to have first round talent. Klezia's garbage deal comes here. Stuckey can be a good sixth man off the bench and add scoring to their second unit.

Pistons:
G Kyle Lowry/Will Bynum
G Brandon Knight/Kyle Singler
F TayShaun Prince/Kyle Singler
F Jason Maxiell/Charlie Villanuvea
C Greg Monroe/Andre Drummond

Bench (not playing):
Corey Maggette
Jonas Jerebko
Linus Klieza
Austin Daye

D-Leagues:
Krastov and English

Sorry boyz but Knight hasn't shown me enough to think that he can be a full time PG. I've seen nothing that shows me that. Sorry but I see Jason Terry with him.
