there is no argument. rondo is an all world point guard that shoots a 48% clip, has the best defense for a point guard, impeccable leadership qualities, and his impact has made me a homosexual.

Kilroy I never said Rondo is not solid. He's just not as great as other people are saying he is. The guy cant shoot at all. Teams actually dare him to SHOOT an open jumper and he cant make 5 out of 10 of those shots and is suppose to be considered a superstar? Teams don't even defend him on the offensive end. Then on top of that he cant make free throws and his onball defense is overrated. IMO a lineup featuring Rondo and Dwight would be terrible in clutch 4th quarter moments. You think teams crowd Dwight in the paint now just imagine if Rondo was in that starting unit with him smh. Rondo is a top 5-7 (arguably) but I agree with Destro in today's NBA u can get a solid young PG at a reasonable rate. Our problem is we never focused on bettering ourselves at that position. (Also hurts to admit we made a mistake on letting Farmer go). If we can get Rondo for around 8-10mill I'm for it but he makes more than that now in Boston. He isn't worth more than that kind of contract. Prime Kevin Love put alongside a healthier Dwight Howard would be beastly and would fit on so many levels because Love can space the court with his 3 point shooting ability. We could build around those 2.

Love would be a perfect fit.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting at... I just don't see any argument against Love... And couldn't follow the train of thought.

Love would be a perfect fit. Rondo would be a pretty damn good fit too...

Not sure we'd turn down either of those opportunities if they were actually available... I just don't think they are.

Which brings us back to Rudy Gay... Also, not a bad fit.

destro wrote:you know what, you're right. rondo's impact is really felt when the opposing team doubles up on a player and leaves him open, daring him to shoot. what does rondo do instead of taking the shot? gives up the ball, forcing someone else to take the shot with 5 seconds left because he can't shoot, despite him and his allegedly 48% clip. his impact is also felt at the free throw line.

he's a significant impact if i've ever seen one. best impact in the league, bar none.

Alright? What impact does Love have? Does he make his team better? Heck Rubio has a greater impact then Love even though he can't shoot worth anything. You singled out Rondo's flaws but failed to do so the same with Love. A pf that shoots 35%. That has to be some sick joke.

But ya, gimme KLove, he's amazing

it all started when i laid out the plan to go for love in 2015. someone quoted me saying, "why go after love when you could get rondo. you need a ball handler in today's game". to which i replied "point guards today are easier to find than bigs like love that can shoot the ball long range." then a clusterfck of stuff happened which inevitably ended up with rondo being an all world point guard, the leader of the boston celtics, and kevin love being overrated because he's white.

now speaking in terms of fit, i don't see how it's up for debate. mainly because rondo/dwight is a recipe for disaster. they both can't make free throws, they both have no offensive game, and they'd both be in the starting lineup. you can get away with having one player on the floor with a poor offensive game, but you can't have 2/5ths of your starting lineup offensively inept. teams then would hone on the other three that can score and force rondo/dwight to beat you on the offensive end. plus they'd have no problem fouling as neither can sink free throws. at least with love you give dwight the spacing he needs much like he had in orlando, and an outside threat to score. but hey, rondo's impact.

All i'm saying is Klove is overrated and If I was to choose, I'd take Rondo over him. As nothing to do with me being in love with Rondo, but he is the better player by far.

You fail to understand that you can get a much cheaper PF that can "stretch the floor"

I wouldn't mind a Gay/Love duo.

you see that? now rubio has a greater impact then love. the same point guard that's averaging 5 ppg, 5 apg, and a PER of 9.38 with love out. this board upsets me.

Yes his impact was greater last year. Wolves were playing great with him and when he went out what exactly was love able to accomplish? Heck, Wolves were playing great without Love this year and when he came back, not so much. Oh, and you fail to recognize that a player can an impact beyond his stats.

You're right, this board upsets me as well

Rondo is out for the year. Not sure if this improved a chance of a trade or not.
