The only way they can make up for this loss is to win a game a game they are supposed to lose.
This is a huge loss and could start things going real bad real fast.
I posted that before the game.
They are still kind of walking on egg shells. Nothing has really been established yet. It was a big lose. This was supposed to be a revenge game at home where they were hot and SAC was 0-4. Lots of other teams in the conference lost last night. That is how you gain ground. You win that game.
Its Randy's challenge now. It his job to read who is hot and how is not and put them in a position to win.
Tonight. Nene was not only not hot, he was really bad. Kevin on the other hand made two post moves to the rim and was playing not great but good. Kevin was even rebounding. That was a lot more then Nene offered.
Okafor was scoring and rebounding. Why not go with more Kevin and Okafor.
Beal and Crawford had little to offer at SG and you needed defense. Trevor A does that. Why not go to more Webster and Trevor A at the 2 and 3.
Why not try Ves even for a couple mins to end of quarter.
And with all that said, this is what happen to end the game.
Wall baseline, clobbered - No call
Wall on a fast break to the rim, contact - no call
Webster to tie the game at the rim. Make it and is fouled - no call
The refs really swallowed the whistle for us down the stretch.
And what was with that T earlier in the game that was a 6 pt swing momentum killer.
Anyway, Randy come back with that post dump to Nene for his 6th turnover. That was just the icing. That would have been the absolute last play I would have called given the situation and give how Nene played that night.
Coaching is the difference maker.
Its coaching that spots the hot handed Garcia and makes it a priority to shut him down by putting in your defensive stopper Trevor A and saying. Go shut him down.
Its coaching that sees all the turnovers and tell the team. Ok, they are over playing the lanes. For the next 4 mins, I want use to stop the risky passes and get more fundamental. I want more pass fakes with back cuts or fake it and dribble then pass or shoot. Also, we are going to run some spread the floor clear outs for Wall to break them down and get them in foul trouble. We have to put them away by halftime. I want everything you have. I need energy. Give me what you have and we will use the bench to get more when we need it.
We are better then these guys. We have come to far to stop the train now. Now get out there and shut them down and lets put them away. Smart, energy, team defense. We are the Washington Wizards. That has to mean something that puts fear in the other teams eyes. Now let go prove it.
That is what I want to see from my HC. They get a team to focus and they put the right players on the floor to strategically combat what is going on that night from the other team while finding his own advantages. He gets them to 1, 2, 3 .. Push. Everyone pushing in the same direction at the same time. That is coaching.
