Mariners/A's/Nats complete a 3 team deal. I have no idea wtf the A's are doing.

Mariners trade: John Jaso
Mariners get: Mike Morse

A's trade: A.J. Cole (top prospect that the Nats traded to them in the Gio Gonzalez deal)
A's get: John Jaso

Nats trade: Mike Morse
Nats get: A.J. Cole

I know AJ Coles isn't on the level of the Royals guys or Trevor Bauer, but what is going on in baseball with prospect trades? Total 180 from 2 years ago when no one would give up anyone.

I should add that if Jaso hits like he did last year, this deal looks good for the A's. The problem is he's 29 and has never come close to hitting that well, especially power wise so I have my doubts.

Against righties, he's pretty good. A bit of an upgrade over Kottaras. Assuming that he's at least found a bit of slugging improvement last season. You're right, if it's a fluke, it's bad.

Let's say he's an .810 OPS guy against righties. That's a great advantage to have. They could legitimately trot out a lineup almost every day where nearly every hitter has an .800+ OPS against the hand they are hitting against.

If he's back to being a near-scrub, then they got worked on the trade.

I would tend to agree with you but the reason it was 38 innings was because he went 0-7. Could barely make it through 3 innings.

It was 3 innings because they were limiting his innings towards the end of the season and like I said it was the Cal League, a League that would make Yuniesky Betancourt look good on offense.

Yeah, like I said I normally wouldn't even bat an eye at those stats, just saying that maybe he is showing signs that he doesn't have big league stuff.

Probably nothing at all to take from those stats and the A's for some reason thought Jaso was that valuable. We shall see.

So, I'm just going to leave this here for now. South Florida and PEDs? I don't want to think about it, but there is one former University of Miami player that we all know of that was connected to PEDs in the last couple years. Decent number of players have been named as clients to a Miami area clinic known for supplying PEDs, namely HGH. A-Rod, Gio Gonzalez, Melky Cabrera and Nelson Cruz are the big ones. Key here is if allegations are true, they can be hit with a suspension; no test needed.
