dwight howard is the best center in the league

Post#1 » by Compton310 » Tue Jan 29, 2013 11:01 am

some of the comments ive been reading about dwights play has to be some of the silliest most dumbest comments you could ever post on the world wide web. i know were losing an all but Wooow jus un freaking believable. let me shed some light on this. when D12 is engaged, happy ,excited he can dominate the game on both ends of the floor. let me know if you dont understand are im speaking to fast. dude isn't happy bottom line. in orlando he was averaging a 20/20 an lets not forget about the major back surgery he had. he made it clear hes nobody tyson chandler that's not his role. so when folks say you cant run the offense thru him?? hello people what the hell you think they was doing in the O the past 8 years. conference finals, nba finals, best record in the league an that's without playing wit another super star. really people wtf are yall thinking :dontknow:. slow the game down play inside out .post up more .thats are strengths were big on the inside. kinda stupid to take this old as lakers team an try to match foot speed wit younger more athletic teams in the league. clips okc the heat the grizz. that's just plain stupid. it took us this long to figure out who we are an what style best fits are personal. MDA is taking a page outta EB book the last few games dont over coach an let the players play very simple basketball

I, for one, am in the "happy to have Dwight" camp. I'm just hoping we can keep our playoff hopes long enough for him to get close to 100%. We would be extremely dangerous at that point.

Is it too much to ask? A healthy team with ten games remining and a reasonable shot at the playoffs. One time!!!

well when you do post up....and dwight gets the ball stripped every 2 or 3 possesions, can't hit free throws, doesn't play like he cares, and has 1 post up move....yet he's the best center in the league?....if you watched dwight play every game this season,if bynum were a healthy person, yao ming was able to play, and bogut regained his pre-catostrphic injury form....i think your opinion would be different...but yeah with a watered down center poole...then yeah, he is the best center....

I'm 100% fine saying Marc Gasol or somebody else is a better center than Dwight but comparing him to Yao and Bynum, two guys that can hardly walk, is a bit ridiculous imho.

what are you talking about?...i said if yao were in the league....andbynum wasn't injury prone....then i went on to say...due to those circumstances....circumstances in which the center poole ins't deep....then yes, he is the best center....did you read what i wrote? or did you just see the words yao and bynum and automatically assumed i was was directly comparing them to him....but in my opinion a healthy bynum and and a healthy yao (which is far from relevant, due to the fact that they're not, and also which reiterates exactly what i said-that they're not healthy) - those two WOULD BE considered better than dwight...yes i said it would be...not are, but would be.....but for the last time...i will repeat...due to those circumstances...he is undoubtedly the ebst center...which is sad and disappointing...

Dwight can play considerably better than what we've seen from him so far this year. If he regains his health you won't be disappointed in his play. Even with all of his shortcomings. ie Lack of post moves and inability to consistently hit his free throws. Believe me the league is not relishing the thought of a healthy Dwight paired with Nash, Kobe, Pau and Metta. This includes David Stern and all of the Kobe haters that so desperately want Kobe to get nowhere near a 6th 'ship.

I think Dwight's ability to contribute to the Lakers is more dependent on his attitude rather than his ability. We all know he can be a great player from his days in Orlando but he needs to do it consistently and stop b****ing about he coach/teammates/system.

I don't know why Lakers fans were booing him the during the Utah game, if they continue to bash him, no doubt he will leave this summer.

i know he can play much better....but he's not....i mean i think it's his attitude that's leading to his lack of production, more so than his injuries....i mean i donno....if he regains focus....and becomes close to the same superstar...or even brings the same intensity... that dominated in orlando....then i'd have no problems putting him in the top 10-15 centers to ever play category....i donno i guess im a little hard on him because to me he is the russel westbrook of big men...like he play's center but he's not one...when i think of a "great" center i think of shaq dunking on everyone...hakeem's post game...yao being able to shoot extremely well and post up in a dominating manor....bill russell's relentless def. and rebounding....i think of greatness...there was really nothing "great" about dwight from a center perspective...his def. used to be great...but today/right now his def. is very good...i mean dwight to me should would be better playing pf on o and center on d...and letting gasol play center on o and pf on d...i think dwight's more of a hybrid than a pure center....

bynum has and never will be better than 100% dwight howard. marc gasol is better than dwight now? realgm has got to be the one and only place where only offensive prowess can dictate a player's place in the league. because in the real world a lot more variables go into determining rank. look at the all around games of gasol and bynum and tell me they're better than dwight. how many more blocks and rebounds does dwight have compared to both marc and bynum combined? dwight is athletic enough to keep up with players smaller in size than him and actually makes players think twice about driving into the lane. that's the impact of the game that dwight has over gasol and bynum.

and this isn't me overrating an impact like the near non-existent impact of ricky rubio or over-inflated impact of a rajon rondo. no other big currently in this league can replicate what dwight does. dwight at 75 percent is putting up 17 and 12 to go along with 2 blocks, and that's with kobe ball hogging the majority of the first half of the season. let's see what marc puts up at 75 percent, better yet let's see what bynum puts up at 75......oh wait, bynum can't even touch the court at anything less than 100% or whatever his own personal 100% is.

This is not the Dwight we've been watching for most of the year. If he can regain this form then we'll have the rest of the league on their knees begging for mercy.

The speed which he's getting up in the air and his balance... :o

We've yet to see this Dwight in a Purple and gold jersey. Once that Dwight is back good luck stopping the Lakers. Hopefully his shoulder/labrum holds up.

david stern has actually hinted as much to the fact that he himself is a lakers fan. i'm sure it has to do with money, but hey.

Actions speak louder than words. Lately I've seen nothing to make me think he has any love for the Lakers. Maybe it has to do with all of the money he thinks he's going to make with another LeBron vs Durant series?

Howard RIGHT NOW is the best C in the league as in the least fat guy at fat camp lol. I dont think current Dwight is anything like the Orl Dwight though and his attitude does rub me the wrong way, same way as Bynum attitude at times annoyed me with his half-arse efforts.
