So does Glen Davis still get 14.4 shots per game in that lineup?

First of all, there's no way Boston is trading for BBD again, so that's pretty much out.

Personally, I wouldn't trade for Rondo. He's about to be 27 years old, and in a year he might come back from a major knee injury. So best case is he'll be 28 when he's ready to play again, on a team that's one year into a rebuild. Off a major knee injury. A player that relies on the first cut to be exceptionally
effective. Not a recipe for success.

Everyone bashed trading for Rudy Gay because of his age and where he lwould be "when the team is ready to compete again," but Gay is actually seven months younger and, oh yeah, no major knee injury to recover from.

Rudy is not an elite player like Rondo is! Beside Rondo trade value I'd low right now so teams will strike the iron when it's hot

There is no guarantee that Rondo will be back as an elite player following this injury. Knee injuries to smaller, quicker players have always had an impact on their effectiveness, especially as they approach 30. He's just not worth the risk.

Now, if you want to trade Jameer and a combination of others to Boston, I might be able to get behind that for the right deal. But I don't think a team in our position takes a chance on Rondo.

Thats the beauty of it, he will take better shots being he won't have to be the focal point playing with a passer like Rondo hitting him in the sweet spots closer to the rim. BBD wins, Dwight wins, Rondo wins, we all win! 8-)

Rondo is a selfish player and uncoachable. Trading for him goes against anything that the Magic are trying to do. No way he comes here.

Averaging like 12 assists per game is not the definition of selfish. Besides, we are talking about one of the best PG's in the game of basketball plus he has won a Ship. Need to have competitive vets like that if the Magic ever want to contend again. Rondo would be a nice piece to the puzzle. Would prefer to have JJ and Rondo on the same team though.

If anyone seriously would not take rondo for any combination players on the magic roster they need their head examined.

I rather have a D12/Vucci mane front court and draft Ben McLemore... we need an elite 2 guard ;)

exactly.... i can see the fear of injury and not returning to form, but he doesn't have much left on his contract anyways if that happened. And this isn't like trading for Gay. Rondo is the better player AND rondo is out for the rest of the year, increasing our draft position (worked well for spurs). I doubt boston would even think about it though. Also, rondo is a unique player that relies more on length and craftiness than quickness which will allow him to play at a high level for longer.

Never was a big fan of Rondo... I admit he has talent but there's a reason a lot of teammates haven't liked him and he gets into a lot of on court altercations. Plus, we'd have to give up a lot of youth/picks to get him.

I'm all for getting better, but there's guys that could fit our mold better going forward that are cheaper (albeit not quite as good).

Imagine a Lineup of:

Rondo
JJ
Harkless
Vucci
Dwight.

With BBD off the bench. Total Domination. Multiple NBA Ships. Huge Fanbase of fair weather Homers on Orlando's RealGM site once again! Win, Win, Win!!! 8-)

Relatedly, Dwight Howard is no more likely to re-sign with the Magic than Carmelo Anthony is to demand a trade to the Nuggets or Chris Paul is to the Pelicans.

Melo and Paul have had success with their new teams. Dwight is finding out how good he had it in Orlando while being loved world wide and now he is hated by half the NBA. I doubt he comes back, but if the Magic had true championship talent on their roster, I don't see why he wouldn't.

I wouldn't mind getting involved if Toronto was willing to cough up Ross. He's a great athlete with a pretty good outside shot. That could work next to Harkless.

this x10^^^

Ross is impressing me more and more as I watch him. His scoring line is always solid when he dips into the 24+ mpg too.

If we could somehow soak up salary via the TPE do you think we could snag ross?

I wouldnt mind if they threw in a unprotected first rounder. That would get me involved. Calderon is expiring and clears more cap space if we send them jameer in the trade.

Snagging Ross might be a reach at this point. Every time i see him play, I'm extremly impressed. Would be nice though.

Yeah, his value has skyrocketed the past few weeks.

He's looked very, very good.

If you don't remember how Grant Hill's injury had severe repercussions on a rebuilding Magic team, you need to study up.
