+1

lakers played perfect basketball that game. from the starters to the bench everybody did they're thing and contributed. don't expect that to happen every game.

i still think there's a lil too much kobe in that game. there were some possessions were he held the ball too long. triple-double is nice but thats not how you wanna win. you still want to go back to the natural way of playing basketball: your pg/nash making the plays, kobe&artest focusing on D and just spreading the floor on offense, dwight&gasol as your main scoring options. but of course i would rather have kobe being aggressive trying to be a playmaker rather than being aggressive as a scorer. and i'm starting to think the team would be better with nash playing more of a shootingguard role.

So much I disagree with in your post...

1) Sure Meeks and Jamison and MWP won't play that well every day but guess what? We're not playing every game against OKC either. They don't need to be quite as good against the weaker teams of the league. And fwiw with one or two exceptions none of the three mentioned were playing above themselves. They were simply making wide open looks created by excellent ball movement. My guess is they'd be capable of making those types of shots most nights.

2) Kobe was absolutely brilliant on Sunday. He held the ball when he needed to, he drove when he needed to, he dished when he needed to and he shot when he needed to. Finding any fault with his game is just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking. The Lakers competed favorably against a team everybody thought was going to blow them out. Kobe's play was brilliant, not one "chuck" all night, and so was everybody else's save for maybe Dwight who I'm sure wasn't all too happy about only having eight points. What can we do? Perkins and Ibaka are both big and strong and will continue to give Dwight fits until he's closer to 100%. Can't fault Dwight for that.

3) Nash has been given plenty of opportunity to be the primary playmaker. He hasn't been good in that role. He has, however, looked quite awesome as a SG. Keep him there for now.

4) As far as having Dwight and Pau as our primary scoring options that's pretty much what's been going on. The ball has gone through the post playing inside out basketball rather than outside in. Pau has had a chance to playmake a little more and in general has been operating closer to the basket where he's more comfortable. The thing is for Pau and Dwight to have any success near the rim we have to have guys like Nash and Artest knocking down their open looks and that's exactly what's been going on the past few days. Even Jamison has looked markedly better the past two games.

All in all I'm extremely happy with what we've seen. Hope we can refine it and get even better. Imagine that? :o

One more point... Our role players will continue to improve the more Kobe keeps passing the ball. Here's why. It's very difficult to have much success scoring the ball when you never expect the ball to be passed to you or know it's only coming to you maybe 1/3 of time time it should. This prevents players from ever getting into any sort of rhythm. Now if Kobe's constantly dishing to players that are getting to their sweet spots players will expect that pass and be ready for it and know what to do with it once it gets there. Our offensive efficiency will continue to improve the more Kobe continues to pass the ball. (I hope)
Sometimes being wrong is awesome!!! :D

What would you think of a Pau + Metta + Ebanks or Clark for Z-Bo + Gay? Assuming the numbers match of course.

no way we get that deal, (id do it of course).

i think the absolute best we get is pau for gay and salary dump
