What to do with San Antonio players?

Post#1 » by yakkoinfront » Tue Jan 29, 2013 8:31 pm

I have Manu and, although hes been playing great, i dont quite know what to do with him. Hes going to be basically DNP for the final week of the season, and reduced minutes for the final month.

Considering that hes untradable in my league (ive tried for months), should i just drop him and pick up a Kyle Korver now? Or just ride him out and then drop him for a FA right before the final week? Hes just been playing so well (t-20 for jan before injury) so im hesitant to drop him.

(Reminder to self, dont pick up SA players next time)

Are you in a playoff league? Because Spurs players are awful for that. I've had Manu, Duncan, Green, and Leonard on my team for parts of the last couple seasons and it is annoying.

I would suggest letting Manu get his value up a tiny bit more and try and trade him for a Redick or Korver if it's even possible. Or trade him for a decent big man and say "I need to trade a small for a big" type thing. If you try and trade Manu for another SG the person you're trading with would probably feel suspicious, because why trade one position for the same.

I feel like Leonard would be a fantastic choice for the playoffs though. But yeah, ill prob drop manu and grab Korver from FA.

While I agree they can be silly because of external factors (games played in a week by a certain player, teams not trying etc) I've done Roto and H2H and find H2H more fun just from a competitve standpoint.

Alright, I'll pick up Korver.

But to make sure. Of these three (Manu, Jarrett Jack, George Hill), Manu seems to be the clear choice for replacement?

Like any team, my team has essential players that I can't drop because of their contributions. (example, I actually can't drop Nene because of his penchant for steals/FTs made/assists compared to better big men on the wire, or Jeremy Lin because he contributes the lion's share of my steals). Jack, Manu, and Hill are interchangeable though.

Is there any chance that Manu only misses the very last game? It seems like he's missed the last 2 games every single season.
