Re: Official Team USA Thread
Good result considering the team that was out there. Howard was incredible and hid many of the defensive deficiencies during the game. Bradley was great as well, having a hand in both goals.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Gotta find a partner with Cameron at CB. Goodson was awful and I don't like the way Bocanegra has looked in his last few games for us. Probably going to be one of those guys starting against Honduras @ San Pedro Sula.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Goodson is HORRIBLE.
i wish Edu would get some playing time with his club team (stoke)
cause id really like to use him at CB with Cameron
theres word that a CB from the LA Galaxy would have been called in, if they werent in the playoffs
i believe it was D Omar Gonzalez 24 6' 5" 205
we'll have to see if we have a January, training camp
and who gets called in for that
our first Hex match is February 6th AT Honduras
i still think we need Bocanegra and he can be valuable
im looking for a D of
dolo, cameron, edu, fabian - with boca, Omar, chandler as our subs
Mid
williams, bradley, jones - kljestan, zusi, mix
Wings
shea, gatt, donovan, dempsey
F
altidore, herculez, eddie, aguedelo, boyd
K
howard, +2

Not sure I believe that Boca should even be starting but the rest is pretty good. I've always believed Bradley is crucial to our success.

No Donovan on that list? I still feel the team needs him. He has been the only U.S player to show up for big games on the big stage.

at least, Boca should NOT be in the 5 most importants
i wish / hope we can find a replacement for him........by February
but, we should still keep him on the team as a backup.............and REMOVE Goodson
i used to Hate Bradley as a player
but now
he is our BEST player

Re: Official Team USA Thread
there will be a team USA mini-camp held this month
will post the invitees as soon as i hear
i hope JK uses that camp to find a CB
and look at some youngs that are ready to make the next step
also
there is a Friendly match vs Canada on Jan. 29th
a good warmup for our 1st Hex match on Feb. 6th

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Dempsey is finally coming around for Tottenham, he's been in fine form lately and his aerial prowess is unparalleled.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
yes, i agree about Dempsey looking better for Tottenham
they have moved him to more of a High Outside Mid
hes winning/creating/getting Free Kicks, and those are always helpful
his linking and possession is very good
which i am very surprised at
i didnt think he could play like that

Will Landon Donovan be a part of the plans for the WC? I think he still has a lot to add to the team

Re: Official Team USA Thread
CBs is the most important position at the moment
seems like Morales, Gonzalez, Beitashour are the 3 front runners
currently Bocanegra, our starting Left CB, is recovering from an injury
our last backup Goodson, is barely a decent backup
so, we could be in major need of a CB for our February 6th match
secondly
we need an Outside Mid and/or Wingers
someone that is a hybrid....MidWing with some Forward tendencies
i like Gatt, and i think hes the only one that fits
im considering Zusi as one of our "A" players
especially cause we wont have Donovan
the only other Mid that i like is Mix
i think EJ, will make the "A" squad
so now we have to see if there is any room for Agudelo
GK (3) :
Howard, +2
L/R FBs (3):
Fabian, Cherundolo, Chandler ?
(if he shows) (my next preference/favorite would be Lichaj)
CBs (3):
Cameron, Bocanegra, Goodson
(id have no problem replacing both Boca and Good with Gonzalez, Beitashour, and i hope it happens)
DMs / CMs (5) :
Williams, Jones, Bradley, Edu
(Edu has not been getting playing time, could be replaced. 5th spot is open. i like Kljestan)
Wings / Forwards (5) :
Dempsey, Zusi, Herculez, EJ
(5th spot is open, but Altidore and Boyd are the 1st options)
4 spots left for deep bench.
Parkhurst, Aguedelo, Mix, Gatt
can we really leave our captain Bocanegra off the team ?
would we keep him just for deep bench and emergencies ?

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Stoked on Beckerman being named captain for this. I know it won't be popular since there is a lot of hate on Beckerman even being called up all the time. Im also excited for Beltran in the starting 11. In my opinion, he is the most underrated player in MLS. I hope they both play well, represent RSL

I looking forward to seeing Eddie Johnson. He has been our best striker over the past 6 months or so, imo.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Rough start. I expected more chances and at least a goal or two by the half. Its gonna be Will Bruin with the game winner, throw him and Feilhaber in.
