Howard: Meeting helped LA

Post#1 » by Jetset » Wed Jan 30, 2013 3:58 am

didn't see this posted
"It really helped," Howard, when asked for details of the meeting, said after the Lakers' practice Monday. "It helped [us] and it helped everybody on the team. It was great. People have said it, it was a 'come to Jesus' meeting. It was good. Stuff like that takes time. We all got to a point that whatever needed to be said was said but none of the stuff was taken personal. We all want to add another banner up there and all have rings, and in order for us to do that we all have to do it together."

Howard believes the meeting and confronting Bryant about their roles has helped the Lakers put together their modest winning streak.

"I'm happy that me and Kobe are getting on the same page," Howard said. "In order for us to win, me and him have to always be together on the same page. We have to really lead this team. I think that's the key right there.

"It's a process. It's always been a process. It wasn't an easy one because we're both two big dogs and we bump heads. Instead of us bumping heads, we can both do things to lead this team. Offensively, he's going to lead our team, and on the defensive end it's my job. So we all have different roles, but we all have one common goal and we have to be together for us to succeed."

dwight's also got new shoes coming out
Image

The signature shoe features a design based on speed, style and Houston's "history of aviation," according to a release sent out on behalf of Adidas. The design was also reportedly inspired by the atmosphere of NBA All-Star Weekend.

The D Howard Light NBA All-Star edition is his "lightest signature shoe to date.... It features a reflective tongue made of chrome material inspired by the backside of a compact disc to pay homage to his passion for music."

His special-edition "footwear collection" rolls out Friday.

aren't they all ugly these days? the only semi-decent ones are lebron's and rose's shoes.

i honestly don't even know why dwight has a shoe tbh. i don't see anyone anticipating when the new dwights are going to be released, haven't even heard of anyone much less owning any kind of pair of his shoe.

my guess is after playing the right way against Cleveland and Milwaukee and then losing aganist maimi was when kobe said **** being a decoy im going back to scoring, resulting in two losses. after that the team decided to have a "clear the air meeting" where im sure everybody was on board with kobe moving/ passing the ball more. unfortunately dwight got hurt against memphis, but you could tell the energy and the togetherness was there thus the three game winning streak. ofcourse they talked about strategy and what not but the most important part was keeping everybody involved.

I stick with Pro-Models (originals) and Clydes. These modern Moonboot Clownshoes don't make.

Meh, maybe it did, or maybe the team has just decided to ball up. Either way, it is nice to be on a little win streak.

Dwight is a head case, we all are aware of that, whatever it takes for him to lock in and be engaged is fine with me.
Ball so hard.

great link destro, thanks for the read. It's great to hear our boys are fighting like family and not like egos trying to prove dick length and girth. About time the "big dogs" stepped up, my favorite part of the article was Dwight saying his job was to run the defense, that put an instant smile on my face. I look forward to the next games to see how they keep developing out there. Last night's game was a thing of beauty except for that near melt down in the 4th.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust
