Really it just seems like Odom let himself go during the lockout and was out of shape going into the season. On top of that he was obviously going through some stuff with his cousin dying and his father being sick to where wasn't mentally there either. I'm almost certain that was the main reason why he hasn't been playing well since he left the Lakers. It's not like any Laker player already deals with distractions on a daily basis anyway. MWP has come into this season in great shape and looks very motivated to play well this season. I don't see him ditching games or practices to tape his show.

did i say he was solely responsible for us losing that year. and lamar wasn't the only one turning hollywood, which is why i also said "the lakers going hollywood". odom was just the only one with a nationally syndicated show so you're damn right he's going to get called out.

i get what destro is saying...the fact that lamar filmed his show during the season...yeah he put up good stats....but lamar was always really inconsistent....soo why do things that could remotely make you more inconsistent than you already are....lamar had that good season, but there was still something missing from his performance on a nightly basis....can't say metta is missing anything in particular, but why take a chance at distraction when we're not playing like a consistantly well oiled machine

and i'm not even saying that metta will undoubtedly get distracted, i just thought i'd point that out since the trend on this board seems to be putting words in people's mouths. but even if he does stay basketball oriented, with the way this season has gone, can anyone honestly say this is a good look? because if we don't get into the playoffs this is undoubtedly going to be brought up, along with a plethora of other things. why even put yourself and team in this kind of situation? i guess money talks.

If Lamar Odom was even questioning Mitch himself about his reality show leading to the demise of his Laker days I think it's fair for us to do the same.

Yes he was having a All Star season during the Khloe&Lamar episodes but I still like to blame the downfall of his career due to the Kardashians.
Lamar was playing out of mind that season as it was unfortunate the rest of his teammates weren't in the best shape. Looked like he tried extra hard to continue his Championship ways in 2011 to prove to people that Khloe had nothing to do with the Lakers struggles.
Regardless I still feel it was still a distraction to the rest of the team .
Not the reason why they got bounced out the playoffs that year but still a distraction nonetheless.

The only reality television I approve of is NBA Basketball, BackStage Lakers, Ray Lewis, Manti Teo, and oh yeah NBA Basketball.

In a interview with Kobe yesterday on the Max and Marcellus show they asked him if he enjoyed being filmed during the season for the "Backstage Lakers" footage. Kobe said he never liked it, he's from the same school as Phil Jackson were they never liked for the team to be exposed in any way. An that counts for just L.O or Metta themselves being on t.v.
Maybe a good business move on terms of $ but not a good basketball move.

Look I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say I never watched Khloe&Lamar, Keeping up W/ The Kardashians (Booty Vision) or Metta Dancing with the Stars but I get what some posters in here are saying.
It is a distraction of some sorts and as a competitor you do not want to give your opponents anything .
An by anything I mean yes other players will study your ways and train of thinking.
Everything counts and yes I completely feel they are exposing themselves on the biggest stage which is television.
