As it stands there will be more cap room than anything worth using it on (unless Joe has an in with Josh Smith). I really want to flip guys like Daye, Maxiell and Bynum for a contract and a pick. That's how Cleveland landed Kyrie. Ideas include taking back Vince Carter from Dallas, Tyrus Thomas from Charlotte, Okafor/Ariza from Washington, Al Harrington/Hedo from Orlando, Biedrins from Golden State.

Of course, as Joe evidenced in the Gordon-Maggette trade, we are much closer to being the dumb team that gives away a pick just to save some cash. The only difference is Chris Paul isn't walking through our door.

We love draft busts in L.A.

If he looks good playing next to Villanueva and Drummond he'd look great next to Earl Clark and Dwight Howard. Is he better defending SFs or PFs?

I think the Gordon move was more about getting him out of here and holding the amnesty option open for Villanueva.

Lakers have nothing the Pistons want for Daye. That sounds weird to say.

I would love to flip Corey for Emeka and maybe get back a pick. I'm guessing it wouldn't be anything like the pick we gave charlotte, but I think Emeka would make sense here.

i would never want to see the pistons trade for biedrins unless it involved villanueva becoming a Warrior AND a good 1st round pick. can't see that ever happening.
How Golden State chose to amnesty charlie bell over andris biedrins, i'll never understand.

Neither. Too skinny to defend PF's and too slow to defend SFs

If you match him up with a skinny stretch 4 type PF, then he can hold his own, and is actually a pretty decent rebounder. But in order to play him, you pretty much have to just expect him to shoot 3s and be a liability everywhere else. And anything else he gives you is a bonus.

If you play him with Dwight though, his defensive issues won't really be a problem, and could play him at either position. Thats one of the reasons he's finally able to contribute this year for us, because of Drummond covering for him defensvely. Dwight would do the same and I agree with you that he would fit good next to Howard and Clark.

Most agree his style of play belongs in the West in a Dantoni type system. I think he's from LA too so playing for the Lakers would seem to be a great fit.

What could the Lakers offer though? They have no picks to trade, iirc. And the Pistons don't want to take any salary back. It would have to be for a young player on a rookie deal, and I don't really see any on the roster the Pistons would want. Maybe a 3 way deal, where you send a player to another team, then they send a draft pick to the Pistons, and the Pistons send Daye to LA. Thats the only realistic way I could see it happening.
