1/30 - [Game 48] Rockets v. Thug..erm..Nuggets 9:00 EST

Post#1 » by TMACFORMVP » Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:28 am

Continuing the trend....we will NOT have pictures in this thread. :O

Even despite our win...

Chances for this game still don't look good.
a.) Denver has the best home record in the NBA
b.) The Nuggets have been on fire this month. We're very good at turning it over, and very bad at defending transition points. The Nuggets are very good at forcing turnovers, and terrific in transition. Bad matchup.
c.) We have been 39-85 from three past couple games.. that's like 46-47% from distance. That is unsustainable. Not to mention, Denver's big men will give us more problems than the Jazz big men, simply because they are far more mobile, athletic, and long.
d.) McHale is still clueless.

This is our third meeting w/ the Nuggets, and we've failed to win any of those matchups despite being at home. The road just means it'll be worse.

Don't expect another blow out...but with that kind of confidence, I would be afraid of them in Denver. Denver is like the Jazz on steroids, with a real coach, and guys who actually can put their averages up every night. So like the Jazz they got about 8 guys who can hit 10+ points(who will actually do that every night). Koufus being the only one who won't put up points, but will still be a bigman in the paint, who is like Asik. Jefferson is a sad excuse for a Center when you put them against big men like Asik.

Denver actually defeated their oppenents all month, Jazz winning was just a fluke at half their games and was damn there luck. I am gonna put Nuggets by 2.

nice game thread, TMACFORMVP. If the Rockets lost to the Nuggets at home just a week ago, then there is no conceivable way that the Rockets will win in Denver... but let's go Rockets anyways!

^^kam I could watch your sig all day. It is so beautiful!!!!

I'm suprisingly optimistic about this one. I'm probably just riding on a high from that complete dismantling of the jazz and my newfound love the following!

Aaronbrooks make more sigs!!! We need some new ones since white is reporting. Preferably something with Vernon maxwell and how crazy/amazing he was for me:) pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssse:)

i think since we really have a tough time matching up with the nuggets, we might give them somewhat of a different look tonite at least off the bench. maybe play DMO if either pat or morris suck in 1st half....also, any news on tjones foot recovery?

Interesting comments from Iguodala:

Great offensive players are allowed to freelance as much as they want. If they feel like they can take their man, their coach will trust them to do just that (to a point). It's more complicated with defenders, and Iguodala says that's mostly on account of judging who he's playing with, or against. "If I'm playing with Andre Miller, I can gamble a little bit more. Or if there's a certain point guard I'm going up against who's not really an attacker, then I really can gamble. I can gamble off non-shooters. It's just the personnel, who I'm playing with and who I'm playing against. Right, if I'm playing Kevin Durant, I'm not really freelancing too much, I'm just making sure he doesn't get an easy look."

"I learned one move from Joe Johnson which is pretty funny," he says. "Sometimes when they're driving or want to get open and they're pushing off on me, they push off a lot, and they get away with it. So when they push off, I just lean back, but I grab their hand with me, so as they're pushing me, I grab them so they gotta come with me. When they're trying to come off and I'm holding that, that gives me a second to recover. That's them shooting the ball or catching and shooting the ball, right there is one second. So I'm back in front just by doing that."

teams were tied when rockets were shooting 46% and nuggets shooting 59%. so i think rockets will end up being the better team as the game goes on.

The Houston Rocket killer Javale Mcgee isn't playing and we're still losing? Smh parsons has to close out on Gallo. Lin has been great on d and been a great facilitator so far...

Patterson's help defense<. What the hell was that? Was Iggy supposed to be scared and not go to the hoop?
