Are the Vikings about to plunder the Packers for another castoff veteran skill position player? A TV station in Green Bay says they just might:

The Green Bay Packers may not be asking their all-time leading receiver Donald Driver back next year, but that doesn’t necessarily mean other teams aren’t interested in seeing what is left in the tank. FOX 11 has learned that the Minnesota Vikings would have an interest in the 37-year-old free agent wide receiver if he does not decide to retire.

The question is whether or not Driver wants to play for another team, much less a hated division rival after 14 years with the Packers. The Packers have given no indication they have a desire to sign Driver, but he has been reluctant to consider going to another team for fear of tarnishing his Packers legacy. However, he has not ruled it out completely.

Driver will be 38 soon and his reception total has gone down every year since 2006 -- all the way down to just 8 grabs this past season while he battled injuries. Any interest, Vikings fans? At the very least, it would give Stu another guy to Hunt Down in a few years.

He's a little delusional. It would be a mistake. I think he'd quickly find out that he doesn't have it anymore and would tarnish his legacy needlessly.

If he can get a 3yr/5mill contract out of somebody, I can't say I blame him. Yeah, its cool to finish your career on a high note, but how many of us retire young. Most want the comfort of a few more paychecks, and I'm sure its the same with DD. He could do a lot of good for his family and community if he keeps playing.

Which is why I think the Patriots are involved. Brady's window is closing and Devis would provide a bona fide stud to get them back to the SB before they have to move on.

I might even be willing to offer more than that. I know Revis is hurt, but with guys coming back from knee surgeries and performing better all of the time, I think it's worth the risk.

When he is healthy, he is BY FAR the best corner in the NFL.

So now you risk guaranteeing a lot of money (and picks) to not even see him post injury on the field. I just don't see it happening.

Besides if we're gonna trade multiple high picks I'd rather trade for a stud pass rusher - be it a DL or LB - be it a proven vet or to move up in draft. Our CBs are already pretty good and a stronger pas rush would make them even more effective.

Five, maybe? Ten? Just based on how good he is and how good he is compared to the other players at his position, he is likely a top 10 player in the NFL. Possibly top 5 since he plays an impact position.

Indeed. The value of having one of the best players in football cannot be overstated. Just as Rodgers brings up the rest of our offense, Revis would have a somewhat similar impact on defense.

He is great.

I guess it comes down to how much is a year of having the best player at his position worth. For a team whose window is closer to being closed than some want to believe, I think he's worth the risk. If you trade tramon for another pick it won't hurt the depth as much.

I don't disagree he's an DPOY elite talent, but where I pause is the contract he'll most likely demand. No way we'd give up a 1st and 3rd for a one year rental, so you have to be OK giving him what, 6yrs/100mil 50 mil guaranteed? I'm not saying I'd be against it, I just think we have a lot of $$$ to pay out in the next couple years, and if Revis would happen, I think some of our young talent is gone.
