That has been a beef of mine lately and I'm glad that DJ got the opportunity to play late and show that he deserved the minutes.

Odom shouldn't be playing the entire 4th. He's just not in that type of shape at this point. Plus, DJ is our best offensive rebounder. With the way that we've been executing late in the 4th, we need someone that can retain the possession.

Postgame Report: Clippers 96, Timberwolves 90 - 1/30/13

“There’s a moment of truth in the game, the last five or six minutes,” Crawford said. “It could have went either way, I think it was tie game. They fought hard, but we’ve been there before. Tonight, it went in our favor. [Jordan] had some great offensive rebounds, [Bledsoe] flew in there and ran the show, and Caron hit a big time shot and Blake hit a big time shot.”

Difference Maker: Jordan. He checked in with 5:46 left in the fourth, making just his third appearance in the final quarter in the month of January, and the Clippers’ center made the most of it. He rejected Rubio’s layup, grabbed defensive rebound in traffic, drew a loose-ball foul on one offensive rebound attempt and secured another in the final minute. He finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots in arguably his best game in several weeks. It was Jordan’s sixth double-double.

After warming up Griffin went back to the locker room to get his sore left ankle re-taped. “[The ankle] was better against Portland, home and away, and yesterday, something, I don’t know maybe it was the flying, I woke up and it was swollen,” Griffin said. “But hopefully, treatment tonight and tomorrow it will get back to normal.

“As long as you can play with the pain it’s not really that bad. It’s not where it’s constantly on my mind.”

Hot. Jordan. He was 6-of-8 (75.0%) from the floor and scored 16 points. The Clippers are 12-2 when Jordan makes five or more baskets and shoots 50% or better from the field.

On what he did after being ejected:

Barnes: “Watched the game and texted and had to listen to my wife saying I have to calm down and take deep breaths. She was my therapist during the game… That kind of stuff happens. I’ve kind of kept my cool for the most part for a long time and [Stiemsma] just got to me tonight. So, I apologize to my team. Luckily, it sparked a run and lit a fire under our team.”

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

I never doubted the Clippers’ chemistry, but if I had any second guesses of it’s genuineness, tonight confirmed that this group is as close as they come. Yes, the bench cheers a lot. Yes, Ronny Turiaf has led a finger-twirling craze. Yes, they post pictures of #GotEm, go out to dinner together and have turned the locker room into a day care center.

But now, they’ve truly gone to battle together. While Matt Barnes is notably a hothead — and basically seeks any reason to start a confrontation — his attitude is one the Clippers need to employ sometimes. And tonight they did. His push of Stiemsma, while probably unwarranted, inspired the Clippers and light a fire under them after a lackluster start to the game.

And then Greg had to mess with Grant. Hill, who’s the second-oldest player in the league by one day, went up for a rebound and Stiemsma closelined him in air. Butler, living up to his Tuff Juice nickname, got into Stiemsma’s face, grabbed his jersey and put his forearm in his throat. Turiaf was in there too.

This isn’t mean to kick them when they’re down, but do you think anybody on the Lakers (outside of Metta World Peace, who is clearly more insane than Barnes) who try to fight someone if their teammate got knocked down? Would anyone back up Kobe? Dwight? Pau? No. It’s a little thing like that that shows this team is willing to fight to protect each other, willing to risk a fine or a suspension to support and back up their brother. That’s the meaning of camaraderie.
