Even if they were amenable to trading him where do we have room to play him? We already got Felton/Kidd/Prigioni/Shumpert/Smith/Brewer in our backcourt. We are TOO DEEP. We need to be consolidating our cheap assets and dealing them for an athletic forward capable of helpind defend Lebron.

those guys are not easy to come by, though. someone like mbah a moute would be interesting...but he's jeffries-esque on offense. plus, melo has done a pretty good job on lebron throughout his career. the key to beating miami is containing 1 (preferably 2) of the big 3 and forcing them off the 3 point line.

In my opinion we can start him at the 3 then bench him for Shump or JR and then bring him back in at the 2 when one of those players leave. Where is Indy gonna play him when Granger gets back?... I wouldnt mind attempting a trade for Green as well. Woodson is the kind of coach that can straighten out Green. Green & White for KT, Cope, Prigs & White works as well but I would only do that if Indy gives me their 2014 1st. Then I try to package the 1st & Novak for the best 1 i could get (I really dont wanna trade Novak)
But that moves makes us more athletic and gives our offense better balance.

Nah, Mbah a Moute is a no go because he's too one-dimensional. For that we can keep Brewer. We need a guy who is long, athletic and capable of defending yet not a liability on offense.

We have to let our owners deep pockets work for us. I think Wilson Chandler is a perfect fit as he knows his role and Denver may be looking to save money. Earl Clark is another possibility if D'Antoni covets Novak/Copeland who can score as stretch 4's (in addition to tossing in Brewer for D).

Or maybe we find a young diamond in a rough who hasn't blossomed yet. But the point is I don't think we need to be targeting backcourt help. If we are to go through Miami we need to get young and athletic at the FOUR. Melo will wear down defending Lebron, carrying our offense and getting into foul trouble in the process. We need to keep Melo and Stat OFF Lebron at all costs.

Yo, since I always value your opinion on PG's can you break down Bledsoe's game for me (strengths/weaknesses) as I admit I haven't watched him much.

bledsoe isn't a point guard lol. dude is even more out of control than westbrook. he has an insane motor (hurts him at times, though, because he plays at 100 mph), is a freak athlete, is an improving jump shooter, solid rebounder, and a really good defender...but he can't really run an offense. gotta take the good with the bad.

anyways, i hear you on looking for help for melo. i just don't know if chandler is available. also, with the way clark has been playing for d'antoni recently, and with the lack of depth la has at the 4/5, i don't see them trading him.

Ha, I appreciate the respect.

Bledsoe is an easy call though. He's a strong quick guard who can get in the lane and finish and a good rebounder for his size.

He is a dreadful PG though, and has no business running the position. He's at his best when his job is to do nothing but attack. Anything else, and his game kind of comes apart.

Think a mini Westbrook, but an even worse playmaker for others.

Thanks GONYK and Knickstape for the Bledsoe scouting reports. Sounds like a microwave type player but that's not what we need. Just wanted to see if he'd be a fit for us to kick tires on.

I'm still on my versatile F mission though. We need someone to slowdown Lebron and keep Melo/Stat off him. We got Brewer/White but they ain't seeing no daylight come playoffs and they're too one-dimensional.

We need to trade Novak, he's been absolutely terrible this season. Stop **** rushing his shot already, he always miss when he does that.

yes, you might be right here, I was thinking on a "win now scenario" but on a second thought not even that scenario is feasible. So leave it at "pipe dream" and scratch everything else!

I was pushing this too, but seeing how good Stat's post-game is, I'm not so sure any more. I think at this point, we've gotta assume Melo-Stat-Chandler will be on the floor together in the playoffs, which means we shouldn't trade away players from our backcourt for more front court players. Getting Wilson would probably cost us JR if not Shump. Versatile, athletic, 2-way players don't come cheap.

Instead of trying to shut down Lebron, we'll try to wear him down by guarding Stat in the post. I don't think Battier can do it so the task will fall on Lebron.
