You really think the Jazz will only go 5-3 at home over the month? It's possible, but I don't think it's all that likely...

Why not post your own predictions? Then it's easy to see how and where we disagree.

I'm terrible at predictions, but sometimes things just seem a little off. It was meant as a serious question (no snark/sarcasm). It just stood out to me as unusual.

I took it as a serious question. I didn't look at the month and say: "Hey, 8 home games, we'll only go 5-3". I made my predictions [cliché]one game at a time[/cliché].

I think that the last two games are nearly impossible to predict as Utah, Boston and Atlanta are all being heavily talked about as being involved with trades before the trade deadline.

That's a great point. But the same could be said about ANY of the Jazz games. If the Jazz make a significant move then all bets are off.

I made my predictions assuming today's rosters.

Using past data, I modeled the probabilities of winning each game accounting for home court advantage, days rest and each teams average margin of victory/defeat when playing at home or on the road.

Opponent Probability of a Jazz Win
vs Portland .73

@ Portland .25

vs Sacramento .84

vs Milwaukee .62

vs Chicago .60

@ Sacramento .45

vs Oklahoma City .37

@ Minnesota .24

vs Golden State .40

@ L.A. Clippers .17

vs Boston .81

vs Atlanta .65

I predict a 7-5 record for the month

I count 6 wins, so I guess that means 6 losses :(

Most Likely Wins:
vs Blazers
Kings
Bucks
@T-Wolves
Celtics
Hawks

Most Likely Losses(1 being easiest win, 6 being toughest):
@Blazers(2)
Bulls(3)(*This should be the home game we shouldn't lose)
@Kings(1)
Thunder(6)
Warriors(4)
@Clippers(5)

However, if Jazz play like they did in January, then I expect only 2 road losses, and 2-3 home losses. We are 3/5 on the road and on trips. So if we have 4 road games, we should win at least 2 of them.

Home games are 4/1 roughly, we got 8 home games, so expect 1 lost game out of 5, then of the next 4 another 1 lost, although with Thunder, Bulls and Warriors coming, I bumped it to 3* home losses instead of 2.

5-3 so far..Who ever called +6 wins this month might end up being expert Jazz fan..I stayed biased with 6-6, which in all due time could still be a realistic fate for the Jazz. Right now I am +1 with the OKC Win!!

Most Likely Wins:
vs Blazers (W)
Kings (W)
Bucks (W)
@T-Wolves (W)
Celtics
Hawks

Most Likely Losses(1 being easiest win, 6 being toughest):
@Blazers(2) (L)
Bulls(3)(*This should be the home game we shouldn't lose) (L)
@Kings(1) (L)
Thunder(6) (W) *This makes up for the loss to Bulls loss, as being the home game we shouldn't lose
Warriors(4)
@Clippers(5)

So far I have predicted all the wins, and called all the losses right, except the OKC which was a miracle win that we really needed.

3 Home: Warriors, Celtics and Hawks

1 Road: Clippers
*This would be our only challenge left, cause we have beaten all the top best, and we might end up facing them in Playoffs, so I would like to have won at least 1 game against all top 4 teams in the west.

Good call for most of us, I will predict March, and if I can swap ATL and Celtic losses for a Warrior and THunder win, I will take it.

I really hope LAL or DAL can make a come back and knock Warriors from playoffs so we can get something better for their pick.

I like what I saw in Feb. Burks was getting lots of minutes and has been doing great. The only thing weird is I though Watson would lose minutes, but Tinsley has come completely bumped out! Hell I will take it, Burks for Tins all day!

They were 6-3 until this last week. I almost posted about it, but figured I shouldn't get overconfident. F-word
