Trey Burke next Chris Paul??
Cool site for comparing stats of players, http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/compar ... rcus-smart of which I added what I believe to be the top 5 PG prospects in the draft this year, and for fun Chris Paul's soph year to compare to Burke's soph year so far. I doubt he is the next Chris Paul, but crazy similar size and stats between the two.

I just want Archie Goodwin, hes a SG but his passing skills could easily transition him to the PG slot. HE IS A STUD, IF THE JAZZ GOT HIM, I THINK HE, FAVORS, AND KANTER WOULD BE MY MAN CRUSHES HAHA. Sorry about the caps.
Ingles is cooked.

Re: Trey Burke next Chris Paul??
It is amazing what has happened to CP3 and Deron since being traded. Early in the year that Deron was being traded he had finally surpassed CP3 in most peoples minds as the best PG in the NBA, CP3 was struggling with injuries and posting his worst stats ever. Then over the next year Deron clashes with a Hall of Fame coach who quits, injures his wrist, gets traded .... CP3 forces a trade to LAL then LAC after Stern intervens..
Now Deron is proving he was great as a system pg, but merely mortal away from Sloan. CP3 proves he is an amazing talent. Both have the talent... but CP3 is just such a fearless leader and clutch player...
Burke, or any prospect for that matter: Talent is one thing, but what is between the ears is important to become great. Time will tell. Being a leader in College isn't the same as being a leader of MEN in the NBA. Some have it, some don't.

Deron is bouncing back under a competent coach. He's having a nice 2013 calendar year so far. I don't think he'll challenge CP3 for top point guard status ever again (if he truly ever did), but he may make people regret proclaiming his premature death.

I think you are right as long as CP3 can stay healthy, when he is hes a stud.

He's got to get a lot better at finishing around the basket. He struggles in college vs. competition that's not as strong or athletic as what he'll face in the NBA.
That said, I think he's worth the risk and has a great ceiling. If he stays projected at around #17 then maybe we even have a shot at him.

Trey Burke at the #17 pick overall would be awesome, it would allow us to grab him without needing to do any trades for a higher pick. Goodwin is a great player, I just know he is a good point maker. Burke is more facilitator like great point guards, but has that pg/sg abilites of current great PG's. Like he is great in transition even if he is the one scoring, and has a decent 3pt shot.
I just haven't figured out who is the best PG in the draft, who is the best at defending?!? Stats in college don't mean everything, cause it doesn't say how good they are all on both sides. I have only watched Burke, Goodwin and Canaan, and only read about the others:
Top PG Picks(in no order):
CJ McCollum
Trey Burke
Archie Goodwin
Isiah Canaan
Others:
*Kabongo
*Carter Williams
*Marcus Smart
*I think these others are likely to be upsets. You know those picks who look great, then don't work on your team. I see my top PG picks being able to not just play good in college, but be drafted and emerged in this team, which is why you can't go wrong with Burke.
We probably need to look into "future' bench players with our 24th pick and 47th! We need a group of guys to build with Murphy and Evans. I am guessing we got this draft and 2014 to build future starters and bench With the current 3 picks, the only for sure thing is, we NEED a young point guard to join our young group, who will take over someday.

I could see Burke being the next Lillard, even if he doesn't become ROTY...Watching him play in Michigan(1) is just aweseome, everyone should watch them play Indiana on ESPN tonight on Saturday. I mean a #1 in the country has to have a great point guard. That leadership is exactly what we need. I just kind of don't like them winning NCAA Championship cause he will be harder to get, and we will have to trade to get a higher pick.

Even if we get him, he will not be ROTY because he has to play to get that honor. Corbin = Coach... Rookie = no play.

I said that somewhere...that in this system no one man can become an all-star. I mean look at Pacers, they are doing better than us, and they put their "Hayward" at starter, while we continue to stunt his growth(along with many others). It seems like Burks, Hayward, Favors, and Kanter just all can't be our 2nd unit, but only get maybe 5 minutes together before Carroll or one of the starters comes in as a hybrid unit.

To be fair to Corbin, Sloan was the same way. Might be something the organization believes in more then the coaches?

Yeah well its not hard to be the rookie of the year when you get a starter position, but not only that get 42 minutes of play each game. I mean if Hayward or any of our guys got that, they would all be super awesome.
I just meant ROTY type performances, I mean look at Beal, Waiters, Davis and Shved, if we could have gotten someone like this in the last draft would have been sooo nice. Still, we need to make up for last year with our two first round picks, and I believe there are some guys in the draft who are potentially great players, and we need them.
I could just imagine if we had some young PG, and some other 1st round pick, and another 2nd round pick to toss in with Evans and Murphy!
