D-mo

Post#1 » by rfan » Mon Feb 4, 2013 7:15 am

why doesnt rockets just trade him, before he loses his value? giving him 1 minute of playing time isnt beneficial for team or dmo. Also playing him in nbadl isnt any thing good since its far to ez for him, so another solution, would be sending him back to europe, to some euroleague team for the rest of the season..

Motiejunas is being used pretty much exactly as expected for his rookie season. No, he is not getting minutes, but he is competing at our most overcrowded spot against guys who have already earned their playing time.

I do think that the new D-League rules have been very beneficial for him and the other guys. Being able to move up and down without limits gets him playing time for the Vipers while maximizing his time spent with the team for practices and team meetings.

He will get his playing time, but like everyone else he has to earn it. He is doing what he needs to do to earn it from what I have been seeing. He's in a support/development role right now and he's putting in his work.

If this team had not been playing so well then I'm sure that both he and Jones would have seen more minutes.

#FreeDMo

I'd like to think we'd trade Morris before the deadline which could open up some minutes for him, but that could also be highly dependent on us NOT getting another PF back. And I don't know what those chances are...so I doubt he'll play anything more than garbage minutes the rest of the season (especially considering we are in the thick of things for the final two playoff spots).

I do wonder though if Cole over Smith will become a permanent thing starting tomorrow...

You can get Motie's opinion on this matter here. The guy seems like a true professional. Jones as well.

Good find, Mr. E. I now have a lot more respect for these guys. Once these guys are ready for the NBA, they will wreck havoc in this league.

Yeah, that piece gave me a lot of confidence in these two guys moving forward. They both seem to really want it and want to put in the work to get it.

I think that they were trying to lead them into a more inflammatory comment about Royce White, but Motie handled it like a pro.

Montie's post game looked great at GSW last night.

I say he might start making noise next year and in 2-3 years he could be a Parsons type sleeper value from his draft position.

technically everyone on the team looked like 90's allstars.

Everything we heard from Motiejunas and Jones has just been absoletulety amazing they were getting praise from everywhere in SL and preseason and they don't complain about anything just work hard.

I remember last year Morris complainging about D-league assignment, we all know bout Twill... Hell even Lin was complaining about D- league assignment, and how Harvard gets more fans in attendance and he was undrafted...

DMO has done everything Morey/McHale has asked since last year, Jones has been equally professional.
They are just two gym rats who love the game.

IMA be hella pissed if White starts getting into games before either of them.

Morey is one of the top drafters in the league with lower picks. I look forward to seeing them develop.

I'd laugh pretty hard if Royce surpassed them. :)

Keep in mind though, some had him listed as a top 5 or so talent in that draft if it weren't for his mental issues. I'll still support him because I want the Rockets to have a star 4. May the best man win, we'll see

Oh, I didn't know they changed the D-League assignment limit from 3 times to unlimited this year. Good to know.

D-mo did wrote about his situation in twitter, hes very unhappy about it, and all that is left for him is work even harder, since he cant do anything else.
His twitter comment : "Whatever i do, i still dont play, always trying to makeup something why i dont play"

I personally think this might actually be related to his Rockets politics, that Dmo personal basketball abilities.

I don't know what his 'real' twitter feed is. Care to share it?

Imagine if Twitter was around when we had V-Span. The article in the Chronicle made it sound like Donuts was OK with going to the Vipers.

What would it take for the Rocks to let go of Motiejunas? (Because there are other teams willing to give him some burn)
