Best Nickname in Atlanta Sports history

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Mon Feb 4, 2013 12:37 am

I'll try to get every forum to vote for what their favorite nickname is from an athlete in that city past and present, in the end I'll post all the best nicknames for voting on the General board. I'm starting with my forum. Note that this is from all sports not just Basketball. Voting ends tomorrow afternoon

Also: If one player played for more than one team and he doesn't win the nickname contest for a team then he can be used for another team as a contestant. (For example if Mutombo doesn't win here he can be used on the Nuggets voting)

Prime Time--- Deion Sanders hands down.

"Prime Time" is good, although I'm partial to Hammerin' Hank. That man LEGALLY broke Babe Ruth's record.

Jumpy Geathers was a good one, too.

As for basketball, however, why aren't we listing Spud Webb, Tree Rollins and "The Stinger" (Mike Glenn)?
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

we can go on for days about the Atlanta nicknames but I only want so many people, I don't want 20 contestants. I was about to put Deion on but I decided to save him for another board since he played for more teams than the Falcons (IK that doesn't make sense with what I did with Mutombo but please bare with me). But I completely forgot about Hand Aaron that's my bad
