Mir did an interview after the Carwin fight where he said no matter how big he got the thing that would hold him back is his mindset. He doesn't have the default mindset of someone who is physically more dominant than other guys like Brock does, he said he was letting Carwin push him around the cage because his brain just wasn't trained to register the fact that he was now strong enough to fight it and that's why he isn't going to continue trying to get huge. So I'd doubt it was him unless he's changed his mind again.
