Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch

It would be cool if Steven Adams came out this yr. He's raw but if he did come out he could be the Drummond of this year. He's a an elite physical specimen 7" 250 lbs with a 7"5 wing span. I think if he wasn't on Pitt he probably would be a little farther along.

I would be stoked if we could somehow draft him. He has stagnated a little bit though IMO. Pitt was always going to get him with Jamie Dixon's NZ connections. I have been following his stats, he does seem to be a bit on the improve but seems like he either: 1. is lacking aggression/assertiveness or 2. his guards just aren't getting him the ball.

Picking is going to be hard this year man, Do you go BPA regardless or do you go Need? Or will we have an additional First rounder so we can do both? I guess we will see but i'll tell you i don't know where we're going to go with this. We can Pick Noel to pair with Vuc for that defensive presence but IDK with Nelson constantly injured and with Ish and Moore not looking like answers at the PG spot makes me want to address that ASAP. I like the idea of Noel next to Vuc. If we could get a straight up shot blocker/rebounder in this draft I would consider that a serious win. The point gaurd Williams is also interesting as a project with potential. I would draft for need in this draft and BPA next year.

I was saying that a few weeks ago but his game is SO raw, it would be scary using a top pick on him. He is one of the most defensively skilled/fundamentally raw players I've ever seen. He can't even bang against college centers, I'm not sure he'll ever be able to do it against NBA centers. Anthony Davis was much more skilled and Dwight was much more physical at the same age. I dunno, the jury is still out on him.

The other problem is Vuc. It's not like he is a go to scorer, so we would have very little offense from the C and PF position while starting Moe at SF... Would we even average 85ppg?

I feel like vuc could score alot more if given the shot. hes constantly overlooked down low 1 because he doesnt assert himself enough but 2 because the guards and baby love to ball hog and get theres first. vuc basicly gets all his points off rebounds
also if we drafted noel i wouldnt play him at the center i would play him at pf where he wouldnt be as over powered by bigger centers. Noel is a less offensively talented anthony davis and they play davis at pf, if noel could get a mid range jumper i could see him as an ibaka esque player

He would definitely be worth a look at picks 10-20.

I agree that Noel would play PF but he still can't score. I disagree that Vuc could be a better scorer with just more touches. He lacks size/mass and doesn't play physical ball in the post. If he's playing a soft center, he can score at will. When someone plays him physically he wilts and stays outside of the paint and jacks up jumpers.

As it stands, we would be lucky to score 30 ppg from the starting C/PF/SF if we roll out Vuc/Noel/Harkless as the starters.

I watched that whole game and i dont agree. I think he is overrated i watched that whole game and i saw nothing special. Most of his assists came off of bad defense by OSU and them making everything. If anything Tim Hardaway Jr won that game for them he is decent but i would take Smart and MCW over him and even McCullum especially if he didnt get injured.
P.S. I am a little biased because i am a pissed off OSU student that cant believe how bad Aaron Craft played at the end of that game so take my opinion for what its worth
