2013 NBA Draft Prospects

Post#1 » by Zubby » Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:15 am

The positions we need to fill imo are the 1 & 4.

Trey Burke Mich, has got to be at near top of the Rockets board, this is coming from an OSU guy... This kid is beast real smart, sees the floor well, great passer, can get anywhere on the court he wants too.

The other PG's I have seen this year, Peyton Silva Louisville, & Tim Frazier Penn St., are both faster guards, don't shoot as well though, but they both fit that role of shifty pg that gets in the paint and can finish with either hand.

Craft OSU, big & strong, great defender, nice shooter real heady and never stops working... He is a leader should be around in 2nd, a sleeper.

I hear a lot of the guy from Syracuse supposed to be real good haven't seen him.

Anthony Bennett UNLV, this guy has some post moves can put it on the floor and can shoot, rebound. The best fit for this team at the 4 out of this years draft.

All the other top rated fours I don't, also haven't seen enough of them play.

Patric Young Florida is a tough banger who i'd like in the 2nd, from what I always hear he is a hard worker, gotta be playing for Billy Donovan... Parsons would like this pick.

Of course I would love Noel really raw and we have to change playing style unless he plays the 5.

Anyone see much of Tony Mitchell? I heard he was lazy and a low iq player...

1. Bennett
2. Burke
3. Noel

did some research
so our 2013 1st round pick is lottery protected and our 2nd round pick is top 40 protected
so if we made the playoff we will have 0 pick
doesn't matter
judging from our history
our rookies wont get any playing time unless you are not drafted
we got 3 rookies (sort of) for next year
Motiejunas, Jones, and White  (i want to use rolling under the bus and laugh)

Yeah but better to have that pick go now in what is considered a weak draft class than later since we'll have to give that pick up eventually unless I believe.

Tony Snell
6-7 Guard/Forward from New Mexico
This guy is sick can shoot, really nice handles, and is a beast defender. Watch him blowup in the tourney.
Watched him light up UNLV, in a game where Bennett, a PF also beasted and carried his team.

But Snell seriously looked like a better Chandler Parsons

fun fact: HS teammate of Kwahi... and the have the same haircut

also just noticed so many Aussie play here in NCAA that team has two Aussie and one of them has a really nice jumper.

Marshall Henderson watch him for the lol no doubt in my mind he is gonna jack 30 shots in a game.

Rockets draft Erik Murphy from Florida. 46% from the college 3 point line. 6'10 238lbs. He can be our stretch 4.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I'm sure Morey'll buy another couple 2nd round picks off the dumb clubs again.
Morey 2020.

I see alot of players I like falling to the second round in mock drafts

When is that 2nd rounder we got from the Morris trade coming? And I thought we still had a 2nd from the Knicks this year (posted this on state of the roster but no one answered

I have seen some quality talent fall to the second round in mocks

Tim Hardaway jr.- I had to have seen him only on good days because no one likes him but me

Bj young- don't know anything about him but my friend who I usually trust regarding NCAAB loves him as a 2nd round pick

Cj Leslie- same as above

Patric young- could turn into a chuck Hayes on d with 2 or 3 inches on him if he works as hard as chuck did (not likely, but who knows, and he seems like a hard worker to me. Plus he would be a cheap very late 2nd rounder to buy

Lebryan Nash- haven't seen much of him, but he still has potential especially for a 2nd rounder

Kadji from Miami- seen Miami a few times and I liked him alot

Shane larkin- said he isn't coming out but could change his mind

Jeff withey- they always have him late first, maybe he drops? :dontknow:

Plus I'm sure there are euros Morey knows that could fall

Speaking of Patric Young...

If you knew nothing about basketball just off looks which of the two would you think is an Allstar big in the NBA?

Another player that keeps falling super late in mock drafts that we don't really need (maybe if we don't pick up ABs option because he isn't even playing and we want a little more capspace)

Seth curry. Don't know why I forgot him in my original list

Could be a semi decent super cheap 3rd pg and sg behind beverly and lin that could become a sharpshooter if he develops right (know he is older, but I like him)

Lin/cappy/curry
Harden/FA or keep delfino  /curry

WTF a 6'10 PG

Post#15 » by Zubby » Sat Mar 30, 2013 4:05 pm

http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/03/27/greek-freak-610-pg-draws-nba-execs-to-athens/

Apparently we know one of the players Morey is scouting on his visit to Europe...

The Greek TMac... no not Vspan
Giannis Antetokoumpo

I guess he is the Nigerian/Greek Magic Johnson because he is a 6'10 PG :o and he just turned 18!
WTF is this NBA 2k!?! a 6'10 PG?

Video from the link

Those hands! :o

X- what do you know about this guy? is he really a PG? How accurate is that video on his skills?
Why can't he play for the top leagues? If he is Greek then he should be EU nationality and shouldn't have a problem with work permits... whats the problem?

I need more info anything you know about this kid would be great.

do not want.

With the 14th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select....
Isaiah Austin from Baylor University
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

So we officially lost our first round pick this year thanks to T-Will trade.

We get the Suns second rounder for Marcus Morris, which should be 33 or 34.

Glen Rice, Jr. who plays for the Rio Grande Vipers is actually weirdly eligible for the 2013 NBA Draft.

He averaged 13 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 49% shooting and 39% on threes in 42 games for the Vipers.

He would be a natural fit with the Rockets since he already knows the system and has played with Jones, Smith and Motiejunas (and White)

He's 22, 6'6 and 215. Would make a good backup for Parsons/Harden.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I'll gladly take that Suns second round pick over a first round pick in this year's draft.

Yeah, it sucks that we lost a pick on the Williams deal, but if the fact that it is a pick in this year's draft mitigates the damage a bit.

As for Rice - I like his game from what I saw in some Vipers games. It is very strange that he's eligible for the draft. I don't know how those things work. It would be funny if we took the guy at #33 after he played on the Vipers the previous season.

Rice isnt worth that high of a 2nd IMO. There could be some high potential players slip to that early 2nd pick and rice could go undrafted...it isn't like he tore the d-league up and he doesn't have super high upside right?

Return to Houston Rockets
