Game 50: Phoenix Suns (17-32) @ New Orleans Hornets (15-33)

Post#1 » by MathiasPW » Wed Feb 6, 2013 2:15 pm

Enough of having lame last-minute game threads. Are we fans or what!?

When & Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans - 8pm ET

Phoenix Suns Starting Lineup:

PG: Goran Dragic, the Dragon (might be out, virus issues)
Image

SG: PJ MotherTucker, our Defensive Beast
Image

C: Gortat, the Polish Hammer (finally played like one on 1st half against Memphis)
Image

SF: Jared Dudley, the Junkyard Dog
Image

PF: Luis Scola, our No Country for Old Men Assassin
Image
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Orleans Pelicans Starting Lineup:

PG: Vasquez, the creator
Image

SG: Gordon, the Max Contract Mutant Ninja Turtle
Image

C: RoLo, the Hunchback who should have played in Notre Dame
Image

SF: Aminu, the guy that doesn't really matter (and we'll most likely make a hero of)
Image

PF: Davis, the Unibrow Defensive Wall that has the most absurd shoulder-to-head proportion in the NBA
Image
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They are rested, we are not. Tucker on Gordon can win us the game. Beasley on a good night as well.

Quick changes by Hunter in 1st Q.

I guess NO is so boring to watch so everyone decided to skip this game.
It's suprisingly quite tight but it looks like we have control on what is happening there.

Gortat with nice one hand dunk :) Woahhhh :D

Dragic and Vasquez playing great, Gordon looks tired or injured.

Finally it was only for one play, we will see if they play together in the fourth quarter.

Markieff Morris...I have no hope with this player. I see some Malik Allen in him.

The road to the top 5 pick in the draft continues.

That was ugly.

Phoenix went from the most feared three point shooting team a couple years ago to currently 29th. Nobody is getting open and even when they do they seem to lack confidence.

Morris looks totally lost 80% of the time. Dragic hesitates too often when he creates an open shot opportunity. Marshall is just a bad shooter... can't figure out why you would draft a guard in the first round who cannot shoot. Shannon Brown, well... you'd think he could at least be a confident shooter if nothing else. But so many of his shots miss badly. Gortat disappears for minutes at a time.

31 points in the second half.

Remember the glory days of the mid 2000's when we'd score 40 points in a quarter?

Those jerseys are almost as bad as the name the Pelicans. WTF is the front office doing over there besides crack?

The good news is that they are one of the few teams worse than us so by losing to them they "gain" 1 full win or game versus us. They may be the only team behind us in the standings capable of passing us so this is very good indeed.

Can someone explain to me why NO has such a bad record? It seems like they have a legitimately solid roster.

PS - Did you know Robin Lopez is #25 in the league in PER? The Suns' top guy is Dragic at #69.
