Honestly, he should probably do Xtreme Couture first.

Love the format though of the ____ Rescue shows. This is going to be a hit, but I think Randy might be a little too milquetoast to carry the series for a long time. I imagine they'll be bringing in special guests, very excited to see if they're traditional renovations people or MMA folks.

I was never a Randy fan at all, so I can;t fully agree with you.

And some of the super awesome bad MMA gyms I have seen around are awesome.

In my old stomping grounds, there's a "gym" behind a used car dealership that has a sign on the road that says MMA, and under every type of fighting known to man.
The building itself looks like somewhere a "producer" named Ivan ushers one into a room, and to a stained-yellow mattress, and asks, "Du yu vant to be star? Ivan is maker of star. Take pants off."

I hope they go for lulz.

LOL....
I have no idea if they do or not.
I know Shogun's guy is there a lot, and they have some affiliation with Kings MMA,
but who knows.
Christie Pits needs a public octagon for all the locals to bang, bro.

I know a couple of guys who go to Old School Muay Thai, and I heard Rory Mac and Schaub did some classes there,
so maybe they can give them some pub.
(Which I assume most gyms would want to get,
so being on the show would be great press.)

It would be so great if he went into all types of martial arts gyms (traditional martial arts, boxing, etc) in addition to just mma gyms.

Dana said on Saturday night that the "irregular test" results would be released on Monday. Did that ever go down?

I just realized that the "idiot tweeter" who "broke" the Belfort news was frontrowbrian again. I had forgotten about that guy. Last I saw he was challenging some fighter to a fight. lulz.

Dude, I have been tricked by that goof a few times.

It really documents how weak MMA "journalists" are, when a fan starts a Twitter, posts vague lies,
and then gets pub.

I mean, we all love NBA, and we all know who is garbage, and who is legit,
but in the MMA realm, it seemingly means little.

I was reading how frontrowbrian is saying how he never said it was Belfort, and people were showing tweets where he would cryptically say "lets just say Bisping wasn't on an even playing field that night..."

haha

TorontoBJJ's striking classes were ridic unorganized and sparring was for keeps. But if you're already a pro, maybe that's fine. IDK about their BJJ except dudes were grody as ****. Ewwwwwwwwwwww.

OSMT, and all Siam #1-associated gyms, are excellent.

Despite Dana's optimism, I read online that Barnett rejected the ufc contract offer.

I read it on my phone, so no link handy, but go to bloodyelbow.com if you want to read it.

http://www.mmamania.com/2013/2/6/396093 ... ntract-mma

"We agreed on guaranteed compensation. In fact, we never even countered. We accepted their original offer. However, there are some outlying issues -- one in particular -- that as of this point we were unable to agree on. We want to find the best deal for Josh and his final MMA home."

^ Barnett's people

My uneducated guess? It has to do with Zuffa basically owning your soul for every piece of crap they want to release. Barnett's at a position of relative strength. He's presumably rich or at least taken care of financially and while he can hang around the top five, he's clearly on the downside of his career. Makes more sense to take the odd big money fight outside of UFC on your own terms, as basically King **** in Asia, if he's not going to be in the title/PPV $$ picture. The word "final" in the statement is very telling to me, seems to indicate that he knows he's almost finished.

You may be right.

Barnett may be lying, but I do know every time I've ever heard of people talking about him hanging 'em up, he always says he is going to fight until he literally can't physically do it anymore.

Could also be that Josh's manager has a different take though.

Raally? I thought I heard him say he was monitoring his brain pretty carefully, wanting to make sure he'll still have a life beyond fighting? Or was that that he's trying to extend his brain through mroe careful training? I think he did maybe use the wheels-fall-off metaphor. I can't remember. Rogan podcast.

You would know more than I would, tbh, you seem to be a bigger fan than I am.

I've just heard him say he will fight until he can't anymore. I guess I took it as he would do it as long as possible physically, but that was an inference I made based on all of his previous conjecture about "would fight for free if mma didn't exist", living as a warrior, slaying enemies, etc. He kind of seems to me like a guy who would be lost without it. Its possible that he just meant it that he would do it until he felt any cognitive issues or 'til he can't compete at a high level or something and I just read it wrong. My bad if so.

You could be right about the likeness rights or whatever, but the first thing that came to mind when I read that was "the ability to do pro wrestling in Japan."

I have no idea if people will care about this, but I thought it was cool.

I have a weird thing (cough cough fetish) about seeing mma fighters still compete and train in the traditional martial arts (a bunch of guys in bjj, karate, tkd...especially bjj in a gi though). Plus its cool to know what it would look/feel like to grapple on a cloud lol.
