I like this slightly misguiding title CBS sports had a few months ago:
Big Ten Recruiting: Marcus Ball joins brother in Wisconsin
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... -wisconsin

I guarantee 90% of the people (including me) had no clue they were talking about Ray Ball.

I saw that same thing. I assumed we would have been hearing about it all year, and knew that Marcus is from Ohio, while Montee was from Missouri...so I at least had that to become a bit more skeptical.

Bernman wrote:I still support Stave. How he fared last year, as a frosh, with one receiver, relative to his counterparts, was very impressive to me. To wit, I don't think the system should be changed dramatically to one which suits him poorly. It also shouldn't be altered dramatically because we'd be losing sight of who we are. That's a program whose base are those big hogs up front. We run a read option and we aren't taking advantage of their ability to bully the opponent. I liked the jet sweep last year, because it took pressure off the guys up front, but they were still the center of the offense, forcing defenses to commit heavily to the middle, opening up the outsides when we went that route. That's the offense I'd like to see utilized next year. Stave was a proven, solid qb in that offense, who projects to improve from his freshman season. If McEvoy or Houston were to beat him out within that system, then we'd have a hell of a QB on our hands. If not, then maybe a guy like McEvoy could actually be a 2nd target for Stave opposite Abbrederis, with Houston as the back up.

An offense with maulers up front and read option quarterback:

the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers.

Andersen has already lost one of his coaches. The coaching turnover at UW has been ridiculous the last few years.

It's already known that we upped our Assistant Coaches' salaries under GA, but I am still not going to let this be lived down. It has been a problem for as long as I can recall. That said, in this case, sounds like it very well could have been wanting to go "home." Not going to necessarily blame it on salary.

The general public knows nothing of salaries. Literally, nothing. Most fans are utterly clueless. Many more in-the-know don't understand it or give it credence. Tell the average fan in Madison that we paid our Assistants 9th in the B10 last year and they'd: laugh at you thinking you were clueless,be completely confused, or try to talk their way out of it.

Boulware, an Irving, Texas, native, seemed set to recruit Florida for the Badgers. He was also credited for the recruiting of grayshirt tight end Troy Fumagalli from Aurora, IL.

It should be noted Boulware is a Oklahoma City, Okla., native, so this could be somewhat of a return home.

Interesting response from Andersen. Sounds like he isn't happy with Boulware.

Rittenberg/Bennett ‏@ESPN_BigTen
Andersen, asked about reason for Boulware exit: "I don't want to start all that stuff. I'll probably say something I shouldn't say."

Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen, speaking to reporters for the first time since losing assistant Jay Boulware to Oklahoma, offered no excuses for the untimely departure with spring practice set to open Saturday.

“I told the kids this this morning,” Andersen said Monday, “ultimately I hired him and it’s my fault.

“It’s disappointing. It’s upsetting. And I brought the wrong guy in here. We’ll be better off as we move forward.

“It is my responsibility to get the coaches in here. I don’t like the timing of it. I don’t like the situation that we’re in at all.

“But we’ll get a coach in here that is excited about Wisconsin football and wants to be here in the worst way and he’ll do a tremendous job. We’ll rebound very quickly.

“But it’s a little taxing on some young men and it’s taxing on myself because I feel like I did a poor job. I’ll point that finger right at myself and we’ll make it right for them very soon.”

Boulware, who was hired by Andersen on Jan. 9, was set to coach special teams and tight ends. He was hired by Oklahoma on Friday.

"I found out about four hours before you guys," Andersen said.

Andersen hopes to have a replacement hired this week.

“That’s the plan,” he said, adding the new coach will coordinate the special teams as well as oversee the tight ends.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Would be interesting if he hired some guy that just took a job at Missouri or something.
