I'm surprised there isn't a thread about this already because he's one of the all time great College basketball coaches.

I do agree on that, he has proven his capabilities as a coach all throughout the years and I salute him for that.

I love how jealous, jealous fans like to throw the "cheater" label on Calhoun.. He takes the fall for something his assistants did with very little personal knowledge just so they can move on and keep their legitimacy.

A player who never actually ended up playing D-1 ball, a player who will never even sniff the D-League and people want to run around calling Calhoun a "cheater"? Absurd.

If you want to throw the ADP scores on Calhoun too, that's completely unfair because the coach has nothing to do with what the kids do in the classroom. The admins and tutors are the ones who dropped the ball in this situation, it doesn't help that during that period UConn had a number of 1 and dones which will substantially lower their overall scores.

Calling Calhoun a cheater is pure jealousy, the man is far from a saint, that is not unlike any other top coach in America, but he is a legend that much is true.

I always hate Calhoun for the way he tried to bully that student reporter who dared ask him about his salary. What a scumbag.

He wasn't a student reporter. He was a douchebag independent "journalist" who was trying to get some political publicity and ingratiate himself with certain "intellectuals" and anti-sports people. He thought he could ambush coach. Jim Calhoun doesn't play that because he's a boss and a hall of famer. He also does quite a bit for charity and during his tenure he's responsible for bringing in tens of millions (or maybe even hundreds of millions) to the University.
