Funny you should mention Sherm. Because I live in MLS i often run into random players and coaching staff at that Longos. Last October i see Sherm coming down the escalator to Longos as im going up. He was looking down at his phone and as we passed eachother I go "Sherm! Love ya man!" Sherm looked up, smiled, waved his hand at me in acknowledgement and continued down. I got to the top, stood there for a brief second as endorphins flooded my brain and decided to go back down the escalator to see if I could ask him what he thought about Bargs goin into the upcoming season.

When I got back down I quickly darted around to see where he was. When I finally spotted him in the produce section, I very non-chalantly began to act as if I was selecting fruit from a nearby bin. I slowly crept my way over to him and said, "WHat do you think about Bargs goin into this season?" His head literally whips up and, startled, he goes, "wh, what? I dunno man." and looked back at the colliflower he was holding. I go, "i didnt mean to startle you dude, i just wanted to let you know..." and he literally starts walking away.

These guys have such big egos, its ridiculous. They need a serious reaity check. NOONE would recognize them outside of hardcore Raps fans, right?

Sherm and Leo are just ignorant to the rest of the NBA. All they know is the sucktitude of the Raptors

He does seem very egotistical like how many times did he mentioned that he played with Dr J. I seriously lost count

Perhaps they're so startled because they aren't used to being noticed at all, at least in the case of Sherman Hamilton, who is an average sized guy.

But Leo is a different story. He is the William Hung of basketball, but with less talent. In his "story" today, he just has to mention that he played with Julius Erving, even though he had nothing to do with the point he was trying to make (about Rudy resembling some nobody that was in the league at the time). Leo's entire life revolves around his brief cup of coffee in the NBA. He is the definition of scrub. I don't think it's wrong to capitalize on that to make a living after your career is over, but he just takes it to a new level.

He was a terrible player, an awful coach, and an absolute dirt bag of a person.

He plays up his Canadian heritage, but in reality he's an American at heart. The only reason Andy even has citizenship is so he has a chance to play internationally. He has zero ties to this place any more. He lives in Syracuse, and only stays involved with Canada basketball and the Raptors so that he can afford his lifetime supply of hair dye, gel and tanning salon sessions.

Sometimes I wish Devlin would just tell him to stfu.

I'd like to mention that I met the basketball jones guys at Sobeys once and they were both incredibly friendly and humble. They said more to me than I did to them. Seemed like genuine fans - I mad a joke to them in line as they were talking hoops with eachother about how they never stop taking basketball...

EXACTLY! He acts like he was a good NBA player, or even an average one. He played 30 games in the NBA! He was out in one year! He didn't play with Dr. J or Moses, stop talking about them! They wouldn't recognize you if you walked up to them today.

Boundaries. We apparently need to have that conversation.

Scenario #1 - I take the bus to work every day. There is this girl on the bus that is kind of cute. I don't know her but we are on the same bus pretty much every day so I could very easily pick her out of a crowd. I know the tambor of her voice because there have been enough times where we have pretty much been the only two people on the bus and we have this wonderful thing called technology (cellphones) so I have heard it enough over the last 3 years that I could again, probably pick out her voice despite barely saying a handful of words to each other over that time.

If I try and talk to her all of a sudden and she turns away, that doesn't mean that I have the right to continue to pursue her. If I get off the bus at her stop and follow her. I'm stalking.

Scenario #2 - I watch the Raptors pretty much every time they play. I've been a huge fan for years and I have this huge obsession with the team. There is this guy who does commentary nearly every day and I could easily pick his face out of a crowd. I have never personally spoken to him but we have this wonderful thing called technology (television) and I have heard it enough that I could again, probably pick out his voice despite never speaking a word to him over that time.

If I try and talk to him all of a sudden and he turns away, that doesn't mean that I have the right to continue to pursue him. If I chase him down the aisles of a grocery store and follow him. I'm stalking.
