It's more about the Miami Heat imo, they are on his mind.

No doubt... his been way too apprehensive... playing scared to make mistakes. But on the positive Harden seems to have gotten over his demons going up against Miami I think it's going to take Lin a little longer... looks like the diametric opposite as he looked last night. But on the other hand... Parsons has been terrible defensively tonight also.

Lin sucks in back to backs. Somebody commented a few threads back about him getting gassed. 'Tis true.

Meanwhile... Harden going toe to toe with LeBron. Impressive.

I'm sorry, but that's just not a good excuse. He is a pro athlete making millions of dollars. Besides, as Thugger said, he isn't the only one that plays in back-to-backs. The Heat just know how to defend Lin well and aren't a good match up for him.

All they do is pinch and trap him... it's an easy strategy to exploit... you have to expect it and move the ball back to the guy you got it from asap then go get again... or if you get around a corner you just stick with that direction.. if you hesitate or if you try and change directions you're cooked.

I wish I could work with every point guard in the league... I'd do it for free. I would love to get Westbrook and Rose in a gym for a weekend to show them how to change speeds and how to not get so deep on penetration Seriously though no HOMO.

If its so easy why doesn't the super smart team player Lin do it?

its games like these that show why NY let him go...melo needs teammates who can bring it against MIA, lin cant....lin was 3-10 from the field, even norris cole was better at 5-10

MIA knows how to defend him

Miami may have to be that team where he can be off the ball as some form of decoy.

Didn't watch in it's entirety more focused on my home team, but really no one played good defense, Miami got everything they wanted.

Houston seemed to be content with a shootout and that plays into Miami hand, along with the turnovers and missing a few of the makeable threes.

They'll figure that out though, at least that part is done for this year. :D

If that is true and it's that easy to exploit, then it tells me he doesn't have confidence against Miami. Unfortunately, you can't be doubting yourself against the Heat, especially in the playoffs.

That's one reason why Felton is a good fit for us. He may not be the most talented PG or have the potential Lin has, but you know he isn't lacking in confidence as we saw Game 2 against the Heat this season.

Wait.. didn't I see Melo bringing the ball up tonight against no pressure? If an opposing team is going to pressure and trap a PG just for the sole purpose of getting it out of his hands who in their right mind is going to let him bring the ball up?

Rose and Westbrook dont have this issue, and while a change of speed would help, they aren't hurt by it.

Lin is hurt by it at times, and alot of it stems from really not knowing the position he plays.

He needs a vet to work with him in practice and such one that plays patient composed.

If I were Houston I'd bring in a guy like Anthony Carter, someone who doesn't need game minutes but could work with him in practice.

This I agree. It would have really benefited Lin if he played with J Kidd or Nash.

I'll hang around for a minute more.. before I head to the gym.. do you want to talk basketball or do you want to talk speculation? Felton was absolutely embarrassed against Orlando in the playoffs.. way worse then Lin has ever been embarrassed in the league.. he looked terrible the year before against OKC... so let's not compare the two.

Y'all can sit here thinking we got some prime playoff performer but in reality we don't. Felton hasn't proved a damn thing in the playoffs so I would just stop.

I dont feel like post digging, but when we signed Kidd i did not think Kidd was gonna mentor Lin from the sideline.

Kidd wants to play, Lin needs a tutor who will let him have the wheels of the car.

You didn't read my post right... My reference to rose and westbrook was for my own personal coaching experience. it was a completely separate paragraph and was meant to have not one thing to do with any games tonight.

Again.. I've been through this debate... Melo was absolutely SHUT down by Miami last year.. he looked like a rookie.

His 3-15 performance in game 1 was a major factor as to why I started to move away from the narrative that Melo has what it takes to win a chip. Because he looked shook.
