I would love to dump Bynum for anything and reestablish Knight as the starting PG and Calderon as the backup PG.

Yeah that's a dream scenario but I felt like Lamb was actually the core of the Harden trade before Martin exploded. I think it will take a lot to get Lamb. The best I can come up with is Bynum/Singler for Lamb and I doubt that gets it done.

No way does OKC trade Jeremy Lamb for Will freaking Bynum. Jeremy Lambs value is way way higher than Bynum. Id be 100% down with a Bynum for late 1st trade though. This draft is suprisingly deep.

You're missing the point of the article. Its saying OKC is win now mode, meaning to them, Bynum would be more valuable than Lamb right now.

Anyways, Vince Ellis also thinks Bynum could be dealt. This from his live chat yesterday

I think the hand-writing is on the wall for Bynum. With the team obviously preferring Calderon, don't see the Pistons bringing him back. Of course he can be dealt before the deadline. Bynum has had some very good moments this year, but still feel the team stands around watching him a lot

Dumars would be a hero if he pulled off will bynum for PJ three or a late first round draft pick from OKC.

Will Bynum is a great weapon that have, and I'd probably rather trade Stuckey, but overall the less combo guards the better for the Pistons
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

I hope Bynum gets traded.

Only because I am a Bynum fan and he deserves to play on a team who gives him a chance to prove himself with consistent minutes.

This...

Willy holds some decent value around the league. He is a productive player with an expiring contract, which makes him doubly attractive. He has shown the ability to be a straight up sparkplug who is the main catalyst to the team making a run almost every time he checks in. A lot of teams can use a player like that.

However, he is not worth Jeremy Lamb.

Just so i understand this, your agreeing with Mofopimp that he needs a chance to prove himself with consistent minutes(which he gets in detroit) however he's not even worth lamb, who can barely get 5 minutes? Bynum is one of those players that can help your team as much as he can hurt your team, depending on the day.

i'd say his value is as a backup pg, which is not really high, but the fact that he's expiring does help his cause. Honestly if him and dre didn't have that "chemistry" he'd be rotting right next to JJ and Krav.

^ Lamb is a highly regarded rookie prospect. He plays for a team loaded with quality young vets, who has legit championship aspirations. Lamb was one of the primary pieces they got for trading a true stud away. They only traded that stud because they are in a small market and are financially sensitive. Lamb with 3+ years left on his rookie deal is extremely valuable to that team. Kevin Martin is also a free agent, and its very possible he leaves this summer as well. That would find Lamb catapulted into a key role, probably starter, for a championship caliber team next season.

Lamb's current lack of minutes, have nothing to do with his long term value in this league for the Thunder or any other team trying to trade for him.

Yes its true Bynum would help them more THIS season than Lamb will (barring injuries), but OKC's window is wide open for a long term. Makes zero sense to trade away a very cheap piece who will likely eventually become a key part of their core.

Bynum/LAC 2nd to OKC for Maynor/First?

We get an EC and another pick for 2013, OKC gets added depth for their playoff run

Harden + Orton for Bynum and Martin? I don't think that's what the Thunder had in mind. They're not giving up Lamb for Bynum. If we start believing this could work, we'll be like the customers on Hardcore pawn being told what their fake gold necklaces are worth.
