I'd have been pretty annoyed to. That's a big no no as either the busser overstepping your bounds, or serving ice with expensive water.

Long story short though: Leo's unbearable.

My favourite line of the night was when Barbosa hit that little flip shot, and Leo mentions "As a coach going against the Brazilian team I'm used to that shot".

Whereas the fans of the Raptors, who watched Barbosa out on the floor for one and a half seasons, are completely new to such things.

He is right about what armchair quarterbacks think of their own capabilities though.

Mainevent, these are the funniest stories ever. Pretty good reads, especially for fans in need of a remedy for the pain and suffering caused by the Raps.

Anyways, I continue with my grocery shop when half way through, as fate would have it, I come into the same aisle at Leo who is inspecting items as he pulls them from the shelf. I subtely creep closer to him with my kart. Without making eye contact I tell him in a low voice that im a big fan. Startled, he whips his head at me and tells me to more or less go **** myself. I realized that he had taken my comment in the low tone in a creepy manner so i frantically began to explain how i had only said it like that so as not to attract the attention of other unknowing passerbys. SO at this point he is wheeling his cart down the aisle faster then normal, when i literally yell out at the top of my lungs, `HEY EVERYBODY! ITS LEO RAUTINS!!` He freezes in his tracks, gives it the slow look around and realizes nobody has heard nor cared.

This guy has an ego the size of a watermelon and his commentating if reflective of this.

Dude you are the one with the problem here. Not everyone is in a mood to smile all day. You're complaining that he didn't SMILE at you??

I've seen him in person more than once. That's the same way he carried himself each time. I've met hundreds of athletes in person and A-Rod was the only one who walked around like no one was even in his presence. It was surprising to see Leo with the same demeanour. Matt, Jack and Chuck are the exact opposite and some of the most down to earth guys. They all gladly stopped to chat. I think I had an hour long debate with Sherm about Kobe vs LeBron a few years ago. Leo is just in his own world.

Being from the land of Scarborough I have ran into Jamaal Magloire a few times. He runs a basketball camp at my old high school since I was a kid. So, all the guys would know Jamal is around when a "certain vehicle (privacy reasons)" was parked at the school. So one day me and my friend were driving home from university and he was telling me how he has a party rental business and how Jamal rents things from them...As we were driving we spotted his car parked and him out side of my old high-school. Both of us decided to say Hi to him. As we were driving up he noticed us. I pointed to him and he pointed back laughing. I started to fist pump in the air and he started to do the same and he started to scream "Yeah Yeahhhhhhh", So I did the same lol...We pulled up next to him and asked him whats up and Jamal started talking to us. So I asked him if he recognized my friend and said he has a party rental business and he always delivers things to your house and sets stuff up...So, Jamal was like "Waaaaa there is a partyyy where? where is the party at?"... at this point I was too excited to control what I was saying so "I said I live over there" (some reason I pictured him coming over and my mom making rotis for him hahahahaha). So he responded by saying " Yeah? the party's over there?......YEAHHHHHHHH PARTY YEAH PARTY (pointing at my house)...meanwhile I noticed an older gentleman getting annoyed (assumed he was his dad or grandpa) because Jamal and me were just screaming YEAHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHH in the middle of the parking lot... so I looked at him understood and we said bye lol...Dude was mad Chill....

I also, ran into Jamal a few times when I used Miami as a connecting flight. He would be on the flight I guess he was playing for the heat. I felt bad for him he was sitting in coach and he is too tall for that. I left him alone since these flights are like at 6 am so I just smiled at him lol ( I know he remembers me, he must of thought to himself that the fist pumper is back again hahahahhaha)

I kind of regret not talking to him at the airport feel bad he was all alone and looked sad maybe some fist pumping would have cheered him up...Jamal if you read this and if you ever wanna go fist pumping holla at ya bwoi hahahahaha...SCARBOROUGH STAND UP BRAP BRAP ;) (okay I stop now)...

For what it's worth I was sitting courtside for a game last year & I called to Leo as he walked by before the game & he was really friendly with me, I chatted with him for 10 minutes or so & took a few pictures with him.

Funny you should mention Sherm. Because I live in MLS i often run into random players and coaching staff at that Longos. Last October i see Sherm coming down the escalator to Longos as im going up. He was looking down at his phone and as we passed eachother I go "Sherm! Love ya man!" Sherm looked up, smiled, waved his hand at me in acknowledgement and continued down. I got to the top, stood there for a brief second as endorphins flooded my brain and decided to go back down the escalator to see if I could ask him what he thought about Bargs goin into the upcoming season.

When I got back down I quickly darted around to see where he was. When I finally spotted him in the produce section, I very non-chalantly began to act as if I was selecting fruit from a nearby bin. I slowly crept my way over to him and said, "WHat do you think about Bargs goin into this season?" His head literally whips up and, startled, he goes, "wh, what? I dunno man." and looked back at the colliflower he was holding. I go, "i didnt mean to startle you dude, i just wanted to let you know..." and he literally starts walking away.

These guys have such big egos, its ridiculous. They need a serious reaity check. NOONE would recognize them outside of hardcore Raps fans, right?

Dude, the guy just wanted to be left alone. You don't stop and talk to every crazy person that randomly approaches u on the street do you?

Good god, that Kevin O'Neil story exceeded my expectations. I figured it was something lame like you accidentally bit your lip or something when you saw him. But he actually punched you square in the face because you stumbled into a condo he was in lol. Amazing.

Mike Bullard came into the Best Buy I used to work at, and wanted to buy an FM Transmitter. The store was pretty quiet when he came in, so i left my department and went to the audio section to personally help him and give him advice on which one to buy (I had read up a bunch on them when I bought mine, so i knew pretty much everything one would need to look for when purchasing one).

The guy was a dick. I wasn't being overly talkative, or even saying "hey, you're Mike Bullard". But I was being very polite and giving him great advice. He made some slick comment about the service in the store before he walked away. I didn't even mention that I bothered to go to one of his late night show tapings when he actually had a show and had Mandy Moore on.

.

Ha...Here's Mike Bullard sighting no3...

I worked at Glen Abbey Golf maybe 15 years back at the clubhouse...would see hockey players and celebs there sometimes, and of course golfers when the tour came there..pretty sure Wesley Snipes made his way through at one point..anyway I drove Bullard back to his car once...I didn't really talk him up so he was alright...offered me a smoke...I said no thanks..dammit that was my chance at glory.

I used to work at a store and random "celebrities" or "known" people always came and go. A couple months ago Leo came into the store with his wife (looked like she had too many plastic surgeries). It was really busy and the staff were running around everywhere. I was able to greet him at the door and he seemed like a nice guy. He was really hesitant to get some help, but it's our job to make sure everyone is good in the store, looked for and cared for. He was looking at this one jacket and asked if I could check the back if there was any in his size. None. So I recommended another jacket that was not in store at the moment, but was available to order. He loved it, so he ordered it. He really appreciated my help and customer service, and kept asking me about certain products and the benefits there on, yadda yadda yadda. I've never liked him as a commentator, but I think he's a cool guy in person. I was able to squeeze in a basketball/ Raptors related question while I was helping him. I asked, "What are your thoughts on the Raptors right now?" And he said "Man, something has to happen soon. It's frustrating for everyone and someone might lose their job soon. Something has to change, or someone." Something along those lines. This was in the beginning of December, right before that mini winning streak we had. I was able to check out what car he was driving. Dude had a early-mid 2000's Ford Expedition with a NY plate.

How's that as a first post?

Kudos to MainEvent for totally making this thread.

What makes it really great is that people on the internets don't get irony, and are now probably looking forward to the pics tomorrow :D

After the game tonight, I bumped into this tall guy on the street near the ACC. When I realized it was Leo Rautins, I got startled and jumped in excitement.

He said, "Don't leave your feet" and then walked away.

How is it irony? If he's telling the truth as opposed to just making up a fanciful story to illustrate his view on Leo, it's not irony. If he's making up a fanciful story to illustrate his view on Leo ... it's still not irony.

The Main Event wrote:About to pass out but I figured i'd shoot you guys one more. I wish I was making these up. Living in MLS, if for nothing more, has provided great entertainment. I was going into RealSports two nights ago to meet a buddy when I see Lebron and Dwade literally just chilling out. I quickly assess the surroundings to see if there is any security around and to my surprise, there are only servers and patrons around. I identify the best path to get to them and decide that, this time, I'm gonna take the direct approach. I walk right up to them and go, "LBJ! DWade!!" They both look up at me (bear in mind they are lounging on a couch with cellphones in hand and their hats pulled down low). Wade goes "wassup man." I go, "not much, i was just wondering..." when Lebron interrupts and goes, "you with these girls?" as he gestures behind me. I whip my head around and see two gorgeous blondes glancing over in their direction. I nervously reply, "y-ya, man." and I wave them over.

The girls smile and instantly start walking over. Wade and LBJ's body language completely begin to change as they start to adjust for the ladies. Once the girls arrive Wade says something like "why dont you guys sit down" and motions toward the empty space between him and Lebron. The two girls start walkin to sit down and im thinking "**** it man, this could be the only time in my life i get to chat with these guys, im sitting down too" and at the last second i squeeze myself between the girl closest to lebron and himself. You could tell for a minute that he was stunned but I played it off.

Wade was loving the fact that the couch was now tight because this sexy blonde was basically having to sit on him. Lebron was buried in his phone at this point. I kind of poke my neck out and lean over his shoulder, look at his phone screen and go, "checking your fantasy teams?" and started laughing. He literally stared blankly at me and looked back at his phone and tilted it away from me. At this point I look up and there is this huge black guy standing directly in front of me, staring down at us as if something was wrong. I go "you wanna sit down?" He goes "no, but you got to go". I look at Lebron hoping that he will do something to stop it and he just stares back at me blankly. I stand up and am "escorted away" by this ****.

After seeing all of the interviews Lebron has done, I was disgusted by his lack of empathy toward a fan. The funny thing is, Leo has the same size ego as Lebron. Both are scumbags but at least Lebron is recognizable outside of downtown Toronto.

I think you should check in with a psychiatrist for compulsive lying.

It would be irony because the stories make it seem like Leo isn't the problem, which means he's implying that us fans are the problem. i.e, we expect too much of him.
