First of all I wanna lmao
Our Scola hater has returned!

Secondly I was huge on Dwight and still am but sudden now that I hear he wants to come to Houston... I don't care for him here anymore. Like I just wanted The Rockets to be wanted, always the bridesmaid.

It's like getting turned down by a super hot bitchy girl repeatedly, and then one day she tells you "idk what I was thinking you are amazing", but its too late you have you mind on someone else.

I say make him beg and take a pay cut then he can come.

Lakers weren't what you expected huh? Yea Houston is the REAL home of beast centers... Houston where centers get top billing.
LAL where centers go to play second fiddle to a guard.

Now you know Dwight.

Morey should forget having hurt feelings and sensitivity about the past, if you get a chance for a superstar you pretty much take it, depending on the deal.

In this case though, his repeated health concerns lately might lower his value a bit. If we get him for a decent price and can trade Asik for a high quality PF with a jumper, I say do it.

If his asking price is too high, keep Asik. His health is good, he's young too and he's much cheaper.

why trade for him? if he wants to be here bad enough, let him come in free agency rather than crippling our team. we would definitely have to give up asik and parsons plus more then pay him max salary in the offseason?

if he wants to come here and win he would just sign in the offseason and not have us trade for him which would cripple our team. we would definitely have to trade asik and parsons plus a lot more to match the salary. sure, asik would be expendable, but if we signed dwight in the offseason without a trade we could trade asik for another very solid piece or two. and parsons seriously seems to be the PERFECT glue guy. he seems like he's friends with everyone (and special friends with one :o ) and he is a great player

actually i guess we wouldn't have to match salary, but lakers would still ask for more than parsons and asik...and again DO NOT WANT

I'd only want him here as a free agent if Morey thinks that a twin tower lineup would work.

Lin
Harden
Parsons
Howard (FA)
Asik

With some mix of Patterson, Beverley, Smith, Motie and Anderson making up the bench.

Yao was enough as far as injuries. Dwight may need back surgery again. I don't want another center on our hands who has to retire because of a career ending injury.

Who said trade for him? I was describing his contract price.

According to the wire taps LA doesn't want to trade him and his value is lower due to injuries. I agree with you, I think Asik and Parsons combined is too much, if you're talking one or the other plus lesser players etc. than yeah, do it.

Free agency is definitely preferable, but trades are on the table too (within reason, due to his health lately. I actually don't know if he'll be the same player he was before injuries in his past peaks numbers-wise).

But we're now more attractive due to our younger nucleus (and how historically good we are at our young age), having a true all star or superstar, our established top ranked offense (a top 5-10 defense and we're contenders) and our room to get even better over time.

Stars and superstars becoming available are very rare. The goal is to win a championship and not merely be good (Although that has been great too, rather than the treadmill we were on.) and you need superstars and a supporting cast 95% of the time to win one. You have to put feelings aside, pursue all star opportunities (like Morey has successfully, despite fans doubting his constant pursuits) and build to win it all imo.

Even if we don't get him and keep Chandler and/or Asik I'd be happy too. We're in a great postion.

can he make a 3pts shot?
if not tell him to go away
do you realize if our center can make three
we would've broke the record last night already
everyone on the team made at least one except our staring and backup center

What do you guys think about the Rockets supposedly pursuing Andrew Bynum if they can't get Dwight? At this point, I think he's better than Howard (unless D12 can get back to his normal level), and I've always liked his game a lot...still, I'd hate to be straddled with a guy that's so injury prone.

pshhh. If Bynum could have a "Yao Ming career", Morey would take him in a heartbeat.

Yao averaged 19.0 ppg in his career. Bynum has never averaged that in any season, he's averaged 11.7 ppg for his career. Yao is superior in pretty much every single statistical category vs Bynum. And from an injury standpoint, Yao played in 84% of games from 2002-2009. Bynum has only played in 73% of games from 2006-2012 (and that's excluding his rookie year when he wasn't a starter). Oh, and Yao had a great attitude whereas Bynum is an immature brat.

Pass. Judge is our man in the middle. I would much rather we try to upgrade the PF position. Howard is a drama queen, and a sooky little bitch! He can stay in LA and suck for all I care. Better than that, he can go to Utah, then I have an excuse to hate him!

Sure, Asik can be offensively challenged at times. But he hasn't missed a game so far because of injury, and you can't deny his effort during games. Plus, he's a beast on the boards as well. Pass on Bynum as well. We might have a thing for centres in H-town, but you can bet your damn life that they are a class act as well. (except for Cato, but Ima let that one slide. He was a filler post Olajuwon/Pre Yao.)

Upgrade the PF position and I think we have a shot at being one of the best teams in the league. Hell, I'd take Bosh or Smith, they have to be an upgrade over Patterson. Even try to get Lee or Landry somehow, (You know I had to throw that one in there!!!!)

Dwight Howard is a once in a generation physical specimen who has not improved his offensive game with any kind of urgency since he has been in the league.

It's not like David Robinson where he didn't have a go to move. Dwight has a running jump hook that works some of the time when it should be _all the time_.

I see someone like Asik magically develop a budding offensive game over the course of half a season. I remember Chuck Hayes improving every facet of his game over the 6 years he has been here. I watch Dwight over that period and I remember him repeatedly being clowned by Shaq all the way until Shaq hit mid 30s. And then it wasn't like Dwight got visibly better as opposed to Shaq visibly got worse.

No matter how talented, I am seldom interested in people who are chronic under achievers. He doesn't fit the character of this team. Let's get David West for cheap, who is basically a better rebounding Patrick Patterson with more post moves.

any trade involving Dwight / Bynum would most certainly include Lin, Asik and Patterson.

Have to take him, if that is the option you do it and don't think twice. At the end of the day he's heads and shoulders above anyone else as the best center in the NBA. With the right coach in place he can anchor some staggering defenses. Also if we do get him, Asik has to go, or we pay him a lot of money to be a back-up. That lineup cannot co-exist, way too clogged in the lane. Maybe trade Asik for someone like Paul Millsap caliber?
