The Raptors play much better defense, like him or not, you can't dispute that.

He was amazing as an assistant to Rick Carlyle and is suited best for that kind of job : a defensive specialist assistant coach, as a Head Coach he just doesn't have enough skills or experience.

Him being a good defensive coach is a myth. Even if he was, his pure stupidity on offense negates any positivity he brings.

Scapegoating another coach isn't going to solve this organization's problems, I'm sorry to say. Been at this point a few times now.

It would bring this to fruition, though:

Casey is a horrible coach, end of story. I can't think of anything he's done to warrant keeping his job besides lucking out in the sense that BC fired 2 other coaches right before him so he gets to stick by default. We're not making the playoffs, so let's play the young guys not f***ing AARON GRAY and Alan Anderson; two nobodies that bring NOTHING to this team except what should be a warm seat on the bench.

I can't believe there's still hope we can get into the playoffs. We just lost to the 8th seed and are a whopping EIGHT wins behind that spot. Historically, has a team ever overcome a gap like that to make it into the post season? At any rate, this roster with this coach is not going to do it.

I like Casey last year and the accountability that was showing within the organization for the first time.

But this year he's completely the opposite. First with guaranteeing Bargs his minutes early in the year despite not doing the little things. His rotations are simply awful. His play calls are awful.

I can't think of a time this year that he did something in game that secured a win. But his boneheaded moves have definitely led to losses.

We were 8.5 games out of the playoffs before yesterdays game. That was the last straw. You aren't making a run yet you play Anderson and Gray while Ross and Val sit.

On top of that, you compound your stupid rotations by actually calling post-ups for Anderson when you players like Lowry and Gay and Derozan on the team. Absolutely ridiculous.

That was the last straw last night. BC better walk his ass in to Casey's office and tell him to play Ross/Val or gtfo and pack his bags.

While I like Casey as a players coach and his ability to get through to the players. His rotations make absolutely no sense. Going with Gray/Anderson instead of Ross/Val even when they're playing terrible on both ends. His instance to play two point guards at the same time. Casey can't draw up a end game or inbound play to save his life. Completely unable to adjust and adapt on the fly. Its getting hard to defend his actions at this point.

I'm sure this has been said but I'm starting to get frustrated watching him adapt to a longer bench

Anderson is a nice player to have, a good vet that can come in and provide scoring and D, but he is not an integral part of this rotation to the point where you need to play him during slumps. A game against a divisional rival that currently holds the 8th seed is not the game to let Anderson play out of his slump. He should be getting 4th qt minutes at the end of a blow out or win or when there is foul trouble. If he gets his form back then he can start earning mins again.

Gray is nice to have a seven footer at the end of the bench. That's it. He does not need to start anymore or get minutes unless injury or a rare legit C opponent.

Lucas not Casey's fault but its starting to become painful to watch this guy. holds on to the ball like Calederon with none of the playmaking ability.

A do not play all three together! wtf

This team has started to show signs that they can win a bit after the Gay trade. It's not something that shouldn't be considered at this moment. However, the actual firing shouldn't take place until the offseason when you can find a really good coach who won't join any team in the middle of the season.

What a difference a season makes,

What does Casey see in Alan Anderson that I don't?

I don't blame Casey for the massive drop off in play when Lucas comes into the game, that's a roster issue.

But you have Ross sitting there who isn't exactly lighting the world on fire shooting 40%, but at least can score a few different ways, yet you are playing Anderson 25MPG when he has the third worst FG% on the team @ 36.3?

What's worse is you are running plays through Anderson, and doing so fairly frequently!

The management of our wing rotation has been pretty terrible; you are basically playing Gay and DeRozan 40+ minutes, I don't see the need try and find new and exciting ways to get Anderson into the game (Gay playing the four for example) when you can just allow the 96 minutes available at the 2/3 to be split amongst Gay, DeRozan, and Ross.

Should Ross be struggling, then toss in Anderson otherwise let the guy you took 8th overall get some burn.

I can't stand watching AA drive middle in slow motion. He has no elevation to shoot over big defenders, or the quickness to sneak around them for shots at the rim. The result is many contested bricks, or leaving his feet then panic-passing to someone 30 feet away from the basket with 7 seconds on the shot clock. It's unbearable. And now he's missing his 3's, which were the only thing that made him useful.

I understand Val lacking the experience to play D being a factor. What I dont like to see is Alan Anderson taking shot after shot after shot. Yes he is a vet, he plays good D, but he should not be as strong an option as he is on offense specially in the 4th quarter.

So many still wondering about Anderson. It's because he's a ballhandler. The other team obviously makes sure they leave that particular ballhandler open enough so he gets the ball.

However Casey should now adjust because Rudy should now be enough of a ball handler that Ross can get on the floor in place of AA.

We have some decent youth on the team, someone with some coaching skills might be able to get us into the playoffs, Casey... no way. He should be fired and so should BC, the bottom line is alwasy - who's going to replace them?!!!

The disconnect between Casey and BC is gigantic, I've never seen such a gap for the raptors. BC is building one team that doesn't fit his coaches style of play and the coach is refusing to adjust to said players. Both are buffoons.

Say what you want about BC. Coach has to coach and put the players in the position to win and play them to their strengths. Casey doesn't seem to have the ability to do so. It's all good that the players play so hard under him, but it's getting close to a point where he should do his players favor and figure out how to get their best out of them.

When you lose this may games in the 4th after being ahead by a substantial amount, that's on the coach.
I honestly think Casey is a fool.

You may want to check that.

Being not "historically bad" does not qualify as playing much better defense.

Raptors play better defense with Casey than previous coaches, read this:

http://blogs.thescore.com/raptorblog/2012/03/05/is-caseys-defence-too-good/

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-04-02/news/sns-rt-bkn-raptors-team-reportsx3b788a1-20120401_1_home-game-playoff-game-zone

Like I said his offensive sets are horrible and his rotations are questionable, but you can't dispute that our defense is better than before he took over (and yes we all know how bad Triano's defense was)

When it comes to poor rotations and terrible match ups Casey takes the cake.

I like what he has the guys doing on the defensive end but an old over the hill KG took us to school because slow moving Aaron Gray was on him most of the night.

Even his time management at the end of games is terrible. Has he ever heard of a 2 for 1? If you mentioned this to Casey he'll think you're talking about the pizza joint... what a joke.
