Lots of missed games this year from Mo, Marvin, Watson and Hayward.
It's like AK and Boozer all over again. Why won't these guys toughen up and play through a little pain like John and Karl always did.
(no, I'm not serious. I just marvel at the double-standard)

Re: Sick and tired of guys sitting out with injuries
they all seem to have legitimate injuries.
also, an argument could be made that we are playing better without mo, and earl was bad most of the year. without those, burks would get no time at all.
for the sake of the argument, let's say that mo could play through his injury. he still couldn't shoot, and he's a bad PG, so what value will the jazz get by playing him at that state?
marvin is hardly a factor on offense, but plays good defense. play him when he's got problems with his knees and again you get negative value for his playing time. same goes for watson.
the only real loss is hayward, and in his case i'd rather the jazz erred on the side of caution like they are doing. i'm guessing they will draw it out until after the allstar break. i'd rather him heal instead of aggravate the injury down the stretch of the season.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Yes, I really want Gordon and Mo to come back as soon as possible!

More seriously, at what point does the attitude of the fans shift from "Take your time, heal properly!" (as we're seeing with the current players) to "Ermagherd he's hurt AGAIN?! He's probably faking it. Or not taking care of himself!" (as we saw with AK and Boozer)?

Re: Sick and tired of guys sitting out with injuries
i never had a problem with boozer myself, but at least in his case i could understand why some fans turned on him. probably because he did have a few long absences and recurring injuries which caused frustration. but that's not the case with mo, hayward or marvin, and earl also have legitimate reasons to miss games (also, he's less important and not as good and integral). earl is a tough guy and he did play injured last season, so i can't fault him when he is sitting out due to injury. when he can - he toughens it out and plays.

Re: Sick and tired of guys sitting out with injuries
When the injuries stop being real injuries and turn into things like a bruised thigh, sore hamstrings, or the like then I'll start being impatient. Or if the team is really suffering in their absense. I don't feel like either thing is currently the case.

Are you saying hamstring injuries aren't real?

Re: Sick and tired of guys sitting out with injuries
i remember last year when devin kept going down with hamstring injuries. it was frustrating. boozers injuries were frustrating. aks were furstrating. but at the same time, they arent frustrating if that guys play isnt crucial to your teams performance.
i hate that gordon is hurt, but come on, his shoulder is hurt, his right shoulder. he shoots right handed, etc, it makes sense to wait until he is 100%. watson i dont really care, as much as i like him. mo's absence has been rough, but he had a serious thumb injury that required surgery. these are significant injuries.
I always questioned boozers hammy pulls when he sat for weeks and weeks when devin harris would teak his hammy and be back in 2 or 3 nights.

I like Watson as a towel waver and a tough guy, but he can stay on the bench forever as far as I care. Burks brings much more to the table on the court than he does. In the past 11 games he's played he's scored more points than Watson has this whole year.

Is that what I said?
