Brandon Knight is the only SG in the skills challenge

Post#1 » by DetroitPistons » Fri Feb 8, 2013 12:16 am

They just announced it on the TNT pregame show. I was shocked to see him in it. Hopefully he does well and wins it. It may be the best chance we have at a trophy in a long time.

I hope he wins too...I still consider him our future scoring PG...

It's a competition based on speed, passing accuracy, and shooting to a small degree. BK will do well.
Curry has participated in the past and done well - he's not a true PG in the traditional sense.

Winning or losing has little to do with being a 1 or a 2.

i find it interesting that kemba walker isn't participating. Would have made for an at least 10 page altercation on the PC board on the troll thread of "kemba vs knight". especially if knight wins. i think he has a pretty good chance to do so

Would've preferred Drummond in the dunk contest but will take this instead.

Go Knight!

He's a PG. And I hope he does well in it, he's certainly quick enough to win. More so than that, I can't wait till he nails all the passes on the first try like a real PG to all you people calling him an SG.

Knight has a chance to win the rising stars MVP as well. Rubio isn't going to play more than 20 minutes and Knight and Thomas are the only PGs on the team.

I was being sarcastic with the SG comment. Of course he's a PG and hopefully Dumars feels the same way.

Knight has a very small chance of winning MVP because team Shaq is gonna wreck team Chuck. Drummond will be MVP

Scorers always win this game...still hoping to see Dre with some Dunk Contest dunks. Knight owns Kyrie and Lillard in matchups so far, LET it Continue!

honestly i prefer the rising stars game. We pretty much know what Dre can bring to the dunk contest, there's really nothing better he can do than what he did at the UConn dunk contest. however at the rising star challenge 1) he can dunk on somebody 2) towards the end of the game, it pretty much turns into a dunk contest

All-Star Weekend sucks donkey. He would be better off getting a massage.

The solution to making the All-Star weekend better is so obvious to me. Take all the All-Stars selected, and instead of just playing a regular game, make it into a 1 on 1 tournament.

You could even make it more interesting by giving the winner home court advantage in the Finals, should their team get there.

Who wouldn't want to watch all the stars of the league in a 1 on 1 tournmaent?

Their agents, their PR team, and their actual basketball team. It would never happen.

Thats complete nonsense. A chance to promote their star players individually on center stage is exactly what they want. Less players on the court equals less competition in terms of marketing them. They want all eyes on their player as much as possible, not vying for fans attention against 9 other players on the court.

Yup, Lebron's agent and PR team would just love to see him get bounced in the 1st round of a 1 on 1 tournament in front of millions of people watching.

i thought about this as well. the other benefit would be it would help create that rivalry that i think the nba has been missing not to mention its own board on RealGM. Unfortunately it would never happen, owners and agents would never allow it. Players also might decline. While it is a chance to show case their stars, it also is poor marketing for the loser. Not to mention chances of injury increase. i think they should make the allstar game winner hold home court advantage through out the playoffs and best team record have the home court advantage in the finals. or vice versa.
