PEDs used to recover from injury faster should be allowed. As long as they stop using them once they are back to full strength and playing again, I don't see how it gives anyone an advantage. All it does is benefit all involved. The player saves his career, the team gets their player back, and the league makes more money having more players healthy and playing.

Like the Ray Lewis deer spray. Leagues keep talking about wanting to change rules to reduce injury, but then when someone does get injured they don't want them using things to help them get back healthy again? Thats hypocritical.

There would be no way to monitor that and players would find any excuse/way to get to those allowed PEDs. I'm not on the naive train, I'm 100% certain that many guys in the NBA are on PEDs. People can claim whatever they want about players testing negative but it has been proven that many of best athletes in different sports have tested negative to later be found guilty of taking PEDs.

What is there to monitor? Let them use whatever they want during the time off due to injury. Then makes them test clean before they are allowed to return to the court.

Anything is possible I have to admit, especially after the whole Lance Armstrong ordeal. I would have bet my life the guy would never have used them, with how sincere he was. Anyhow who knows, but why the the spontaneity of this thread?

hahaha lol you were being very naive then. I live in France where the Tour de France obviously gets a lot of media coverage, and there was not a single person I know who didn't think Armstrong was doping up when he was winning. Everyone knew he was on it, so I have no idea how you could believe he was sincere (although I assume you must be american, which probably means the media didn't cover it in the same way).

As for Jordan, I don't think he ever took Steroids/HGH since he never looked that muscular, but people have to remember that PEDs aren't at all confined to bulking up, and if you think there aren't drugs that can massively help you go through an 82 game season you're being extremely naive (not directed at you doozyj).

I think at least half of the players in almost all of the major sports take PEDs in one form or another. When there's this much money involved and the game is primarily a show, plus the fact that the NBA blatantly doesn't test its players, there's no way in hell the league is mostly clean. That doesn't deter me from watching basketball because I believe it's the same in every sport anyway.

MJ was a a straight shooter who didnt sugar coat anything which made him a jerk... he also had gambling problems..

But dont think he used PEDs in the 80s and early 90s arent as undetectable as today... today's PEDs are backed by multi-billion companies, making them so hard to detect and almost same level as normal prescription medicines in terms of how they are manufactured, we're talking proper labs not back yard jobs.

Anyways, sports = billions of dollars, when athlete stars = Big $$$, there is incentive there from corporations.

back to the topic.... Jordan most likely gave big corporations MOTIVATION to invest on PEDs... because of his impact to the economy..... without a doubt Jordan is the all-time greatest sportsman in terms of endorsement and global impact to the economy... Jordan turned the industry from millions to billions during his era.

I'm not singling out michael, just that there seems to be this belief that PED's are some new 21st century invention which is far from the truth. Either way as i've mentioned before if he was using them he was not alone.

what it is, is that these young guys on here that never seen him play live get UPSET that he's considered so head and shoulders above players of today (lebron, durant) and they just dont get it....

they want their generation to be the best but the fact is MJ and his legacy kills their hope of any NBA player in the league today ever being consider greater....

they are sick of the "Jordan jockers" because they cannot relate...

Never cheated on his wife and had illegitimate kids.
Never left basketball for several years to find himself (or deal with gambling issues / betting on BBALL and was secretly banished)
Never had a chip on his shoulder or had a bad attitude (his Hall of Fame speech was filled with praise and joy)

Not a chance in hell he cheated, I tell ya.

EDIT: Now I'm not saying he did PED's. But we think we know athletes or their motivations. We know nothing other than the story that the media writes for them. It's becoming ever more clear that many athletes are self centered, self serving individuals that have no problem cheating if it means they will get more endorsements or have the chance to be labeled as the best of their generation. Look at AROD. Look at Lance. Those guys lied through their teeth, took people to court and continued to lie to the point where they almost believed their own lies. So if I was a betting man I wouldn't be surprised if over 50% of the super high achievers across all sports took PED's. Those that didn't battled injuries as they got older like a Grant Hill or a Ken Griffey Jr.

Well i'd say its easier to just name the stars I think were not on PEDs like Ewing, Dirk, Robinson, Duncan..
Wade imo has been WAY to injury probe to be using PEDs seriously like every year since he came in the league he is missing games to leg injuries.

Also pictures showing a guy gaining mass don't mean anything, I was 6'1 165-170lbs when I grad HS and by the beginning of my sophomore year I was at 185-190lbs, super cut and my max bench was 305lbs. Some people are very receptive to weight lifting.

He probably used it like a lot of the players in the 70's 80's did.With the right dosage cocaine can be used as performance enhancing drug. He probably used anything he could to be a better player.
