Building around TT

Post#1 » by Dupp » Thu Feb 7, 2013 8:35 pm

So it's been well documented tristans success without Andy and how they don't really fit together. Going forward what type of centers (guys around the league) would fit next to TT? Spacing is pretty important in today's NBA and why it's not essential to have 4 guys out there that can stretch the floor it is often a better formula.

So who fits/what type of style player is going the get the most out of him? It's a shame big z isn't 10 years younger. Even if the answer is someone that can hit the mmidrange you want a player that is tough and can bang inside also at centre in order to be successful.

Personally, I am interested to see Varejao and Thompson playing together. Varejao's jumper was coming along, and with the way TT is developing, he should be able to hit 15 footers by the All-Star break.

To stay within confines of the thread, I would be looking for a young, mobile center who can hit a 15-18 footer with some consistency. Though he is only hitting 33% from mid range this season, I feel that Zeller will be that guy. I think a lot depends on how much stronger Zeller can get.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Al Jefferson? He is like 6'10-11ish and weighs like 280... nice offensive touch, could fit nicely with TT, plus Utah is likely to get rid of him... he's a 15 million dollar expiring, and will probably demand lots of money though...probably more that what he's worth to this organization to be honest... Ideally (and unrealistically) guys in the mold of Kanter, Lopez, Gasol, Cousins,Monroe, etc... those would be great fits with TT. Jefferson is probably the most realistic of the guys I mentioned, but like I said I don't think he's worth a max contract to this team...maybe someone else, but to a rebuilding team, overpaying someone like that could be the nail in the coffin for being a tredmill team.

I think Len and Cody Zeller are both great fits next to him offensively but I worry about on defense.

How about a guy that Dan Gilbert and the rest of the Cavs organization absolutely love?

The question is which way they want to develope TT. Do they want to pull him away from the basket and turn him into a 17-10-1, or do they want to pull him closer and turn him into a 10-15-2 player. If the former, you use him like Carlos Boozer, and you draft a Noel type for Center. If the latter, then you want a Cody Zeller type.
