McLemore is unquestionably a safer selection. And as he and Muhammad have the same up-side, McLemore is witout any doubt the BPA between the two.

I'd be happy with one of either Smart, Noel or McLemore.

I didn't read/see anything negative about him before the season began. I just watched his hs/aau/international games and called him a selfish chucker to which I got killed for before the college season began (on this board). If other people called him a selfish chucker, that's news to me because all I've read prior to the season was how great of a prospect he was.

Of course, I'm not claiming to be the ONLY person that saw it and called it. I just didn't see anybody doing it around here (and to be honest, this is the only sports forum I visit)

Also, on a serious note Noonskadoodle, you are this boards college basketball aficionado. I only watch top ten talent and can't pretend to enjoy it for the most part. I'm very impressed by your depth of knowledge on the entire field. Is the college bb game your favorite?

VGOSWAMI wrote:The amount of uncertainty with Noel scares me. He's a good shot blocker, but I don't know if that makes him a defensive force in the NBA. He's still very light for a center. His game is too reminiscent of Hasheem Thabeet right now, who also was an extremely dominant shot blocker with raw offensive skill. If we drafted him, I'd be cool with it since I trust our scouting and management to draft the BPA. I still like Smart and McLemore more.

There's one big difference between Noel and Thabeet though -- Thabeet is/was a stiff, and Noel can move around pretty fluidly and a lot more athletic. Also Noel is a lot better than Thabeet was when he was a freshman in college. He'll be leap and bound better than Thabeet, I wouldn't worry about it if we drafted him.

As for Smart, he needs to either increase his 3pt% a lot or drop it altogether and be like Rondo -- focusing on attacking the basket and only shoot 3s when wide open and that would only work if you're in a really good team like Celtics.

Yea wasn't trying to say you thought you were the only one who said that..my bad. Just saw quite a few reports about him coming out saying how he wasn't really a team player & such.

I do love college ball, but just more so this season due to the fact that the Magic are in the rebuilding situation. It's fun watching all these guys play & see who the best fit for the Magic will be.

Noel reminds too much of dwight. Great defensive player with no offensive game. I want to see a good versitile wing player that can be our go to scorer. Not another one dimensional player.

That's next year with Andrew Wiggins. :D

That Shabazz video... wow, not sure I'd want him anymore after seeing that. Guy may be a cancer in the NBA.

Andrew Wiggins scored 57 points on 24-of-28 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked 4 shots in Huntington Prep's 111-59 win over Marietta College JV on Thursday night.

Earlier Thursday, Wiggins caught wind of a Sports Illustrated article that portrayed him as a player who doesn't go full-tilt against lesser competition.

"I just had to respond to the negative outlook that the reporter gave me," Wiggins said. "I thought I responded well. Negative media happens to everybody. You just have to work through it and respond."

Just hours earlier, Wiggins was named one of three finalists for the Naismith Player of the Year Award, given annually to the nation's top high school basketball player

The other Naismith Award candidates are Simeon's Jabari Parker and Aaron Gordon of Archbishop Mitty.

"All three are great players and I think Andrew separates himself from the other two in that he can dominate games in ways on both ends of the court," Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford said.

The more i think about it the more i'm feeling like Smart should be the guy for us. I'm just not comfortable with our PG rotation, Nelson has been racking up these knick knack injuries and he's not getting any younger. Ish hasn't been able to take the next step often times looking like he's regressed and Moore is not a PG and shouldn't be handled like one.

I honestly feel like we won't get the Number 1 pick but i feel like we will be in the top 5 so right now for me it's between Noel and Smart with the slight edge to Smart. 6"4 Nba ready body, Nice Athleticism and a great leader, he's a nice PG prospect with All-Around skills he can give you points/assists/rebounds and he's not afraid to dig in defensively. His shot needs work but his mechanics is not that bad actually but he's young and has time to work on it, another thing i've noticed is he loves to get his team involved he's actually someone who knows how to make his teammates better.

I would love to pick him up and have him groom under Nelson until Smart is ready to run the show and i would love having a natural leader and fierce competitor at one of if not the most important position on the floor

I project Smart as an excellence 6th man and a marginal part-time starter. That is not what the Magic need in the coming draft.

i can respect your opinion, according to this blog which uses some kind of statistical analysis that i'm not smart enough to understand currently projects Smart having the highest NBA impact i believe out of the current 2013 prospects http://shutupandjam.net/draft-rankings/

Edit: here is some back story on his analysis and what it means also his methodology http://shutupandjam.net/2013/02/04/draft-rankings/

(it's not an exact science though obviously)
