DO NOT WANT - 2013 Trade Deadline Edition

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Feb 8, 2013 10:24 pm

Whenever the trade deadline approaches you know that the Rockets will be mentioned as a team that's looking to make a move. Our team will be tied into just about every trade rumor out there, I'm sure. So with that in mind who are five players that may be traded who you flat out DO NOT WANT on this Rockets team as a mid-season trade deadline acquisition?

Here are mine:

1. Pau Gasol
2. Andrew Bynum
3. Josh Smith
4. Dwight Howard
5. Andrea Bargnani

Wow - I should have put Amare ahead of Bargnani!

...actually, I don't know. It's a push.

Do want.

Carl Landry

Chuck Hayes

Andrew Bogut

Shane Battier, (to back up Parsons.)

Don't want.

Patterson. (Patterson for Landry...... Done deal!!!!!)

Royce White.

Marcus Morris. (Sorry Mook, but if u going gets us any of these 4 players.)

Anyone else in the league. Those are the only 4 players that I'd want in/back in Houston. I can handle moving anyone else on the roster except for Judge, Harden, Parsons, Lin, Delfino, and Wollumbin. I think a Judge/Bogut combo would be awesome. I also realise realistically, that this isn't going to happen. But I can dream can't I??

Really people dont want Dwight Howard?

I mean jesus christ.....

Only the best rebounder and finisher in the league.

Imagine all those dropped passes and missed layup attempts from Asik and convert them into dunks. How can anyone say no to that??

If we get Dwight and trade Asik + filler for a borderline starish PF, this is a legit 65+ team.

im for dwight, depending on who we give up tho. i wouldnt be entirely against a dwight/asik frontcourt. but one of them has to work on their fts/jumper in the offseason.

lin needs a good pnr big

You know Kris Humphries needs to leave the nets, and we have outside spacers to give them that can do more than Ben Gordon...

Ryan Anderson is too good to be stuck in a Pelican's uniform.

David Lee, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin would be the most talked about love triangle in all of sports.

People need to revise thier lists.

Odds are you will need someone on those lists to make us a better team.

I hope Morris gets traded for anything half-decent.

I hope the Rockets get their hands on a another draft pick or two in a salary dump deal.

I hope they can find decent value for Douglas and with Greg Smith's recent struggles it may be wise to look for a decent backup C on an expiring deal. Aldrich, like Smith has his moments every now and then, but he just isn't going to cut it going forward.
I also wouldn't mind a Millsap rental, depending on the price. Patterson is fine as long as he's not starting.

Do not want Josh Smith.

I'm down for all three.

I'ma put the DNW here that no one will agree with: LaMarcus.
I'd rather have Batum back.
Morey 2020.

Any interest on Carlos Boozer?

Nah man. We amnestied Scola on a much better deal. They are both scoring heavy, defensively lacking 4s.

Lamarcus would be huge, but there is no way the Blazers ownership will let him go.

Ditto with Batum unless we give back Parsons and a few more pieces.

The problem with the Blazers is that their core is set. They have an All Star 4, a really good 3 and a really promising 1. They need more mobility at the 2 and more height at the 5. Wes Mathews would be great as the second guy off the bench instead of the starting 2, and instead of Aldridge playing the 5 and JJ Hickson on the 4, they can slide Aldridge to the 4 and have another big in the middle, they would be set... Ideally, they should wait for Barton and Leonard to develop. But if they don't, I think north of the border is where they should look for assets.

Portland's ideal trading partner is Toronto. They have a couple of wing players (Fields and DeRozan come to mind) where Rudy Gay took a lot of time players from and they need to get rid of Bargnani. In turn, Toronto needs better rebounders in the middle.
