GAME THREAD: Cavs vs Orlando @ home

Post#1 » by Dupp » Sat Feb 9, 2013 12:47 am

Haven't had one of these for a while.

Hopefully we can have another good all round team performance. We've played really well since getting some assemblance of a bench.

We always play down to teams we should be dominating. Dion playing off the ball really well.

It's time for Speights to start at the 5. Zeller is fcking soft, It's like whoever he guards ends up scoring 20 or more points. Byron sit his ass down please.

Byron is pissing me off. Why the hell do you always play the bench 9 minutes in the 4th while the starters only play 3?

You just gotta love seein Dion and Kyrie start together and still put up some efficient numbers in a nice win... not to mention Speights/Ellington/Livingston looking like a SOLID bench unit... lovin this team right now

Team is playing well. That's a great thing to see. Although with a 3 game winning streak, the Cavs now have the 4th worst record in the league.

We are a very young team & wins are not the most important thing at this time. We must continue to develop & grow. Be thankful Byron is being patient with Zeller, he will get better but must continue to play. If his additude, practice habbits or lack of hussle change then you would cut his minutes.

It's not just a 3 game win streak, the team has actually won 9 out of it's last 18 games. That's a full fledged trend.

BTW didn't get a chance to watch the game, what accounted for the huge discrepancy in free throws?

Two things:

1. Speights

2. Orlando is on pace for an NBA record low amount of free throw attempts. They are a jump shooting team from top to bottom and dont drive to get calls.

I did notice that both Speights and Zeller led the team in FT attempts. Kinda suspected that we were getting inside. Good game. We're finally beating some of the teams we should be beating rather than just occasionally beating teams that are better than us and losing to those on our level. That just didn't make any sense.

Just sorting through the game logs for the season. The Cavaliers have had less than 10 turnovers 5 times total on the season. That has happened 4 times in the last 10 games, which the team has went 7-3.

Kyrie has cut down his turnovers a bit lately which was a big reason for our high turnovers. I think the shared workload and other players scoring is the main reason. Kyrie isnt forced to do all the passing and all teh scoring, hence hes forcing the issue less and protecting the ball a bit better.
