If Gordon doesn't check into the game by midway into the 2nd quarter tonight its a done deal.

But he's an adequate big who will contribute much more than Ben Gordon.

We aren't invested in him long term if we don't want to be. He would give us rebounding that we desperately need, and if things did go horribly bad he expires after next season. Really not that big of a risk unlike Thomas, and Diop were.

Just start Humphries and send Biz to the D for the rest of the year.

Terrible ideas. Send Haywood, Tyrus or Warrick to the D league instead.

^sounds good to me.

Looking at the Nets' board, most of them seem perfectly fine with getting rid of Brooks as well. I guess MarShon lost his swag big time.

I think most of the Nets board wants to get a first rounder out of him since they don't have a first rounder for another 54 years (im just assuming, but that would sound about right). Brooks has potential on the offensive end, but he still only weighs 165 pounds (estimating), and plays terrible defense.

Definitely worth a gamble though.

This trade seems to make a lot of sense for both teams. I would also be interested in bringing back MarShon if we could because he would help make up for the three point shooting we are losing in Gordon.

We would be picking up two quality guys that could have a future with our team. If we could somehow get MarShon back he would give us more flexibility, because we would have lost Gordon, Hendo is up for a new contract, and Taylor isnt ready to be a starter. I agree that dealing Gordon makes drafting a shooting guard more attractive especially if Marshon isnt part of deal.

Ideally..

We get both guys and add Noel or 2 guard in draft.

Kemba- Sessions
McLemore- Brooks
MKG- Taylor
Hump- Mully
Biz- Haywood

Let Diop, Reggie, Hendo, and Warrick walk away. Then sign Jefferson. That could be a dangerous team.

David Aldridge: Ben Gordon-Kris Humphries deal has been discussed by Brooklyn/Charlotte, but is a back burner possibility for now. Twitter @daldridgetnt

A Humphries-Gordon straight up swap does not interest me. We are going to suck either way and quite frankly the thought of a Humphries-Biyombo front court is frightening. There would be football teams scoring more points than the Bobcats.

We need another asset to do this deal. If we could offload a bad contract that'd be appealing (e.g., Tyrus) but the Nets don't really have another contract that they'd realistically include to make the salaries work. The Nets have traded all their picks in the near future that they can. What is left is Marshon Brooks. Brooks hasn't been that grade this year. His RAPM is not great. But he'd be worth the gamble since Gordon clearly isn't the future of the franchise either.

Al Jefferson? He'd want way more money than he is worth to sign with us. He's not a leader. His defense is wanting. And he's 28 and on the wrong side of his prime (and his prime wasn't that prime). No thanks.

Hey guys, Nets fan here.

I actually proposed this trade a while back to you guys and it seemed like a bunch of you agreed with it.

I think it works well for both teams. Honestly Hump isn't a back PnR player and has worked on his outside jumper a lot. He is totally rotting on the bench in our idiotic coach's rotation. He's definitely still a double-double machine if given the steady minutes, but don't really expect more than 8-14 points on any given night. He's a classy player and will give you his all and is not afraid to stand up for himself (see Hump v. Rondo fight from earlier this year).

The Nets sorely need a proven scorer off the bench to go with Blatche and I think Gordon can be that guy.

Actually the Nets have their first rounders from here on out (the one they traded to ATL in the JJ deal was a protected first rounder from Huoston in the Terrance Williams trade).

How about if they included Marshon and you guys put in Warrick too?
