Chicago is one of those teams that is extremely close to the tax threshold - they are actually just over it.

Any deal with them needs to get them under it for this season and following seasons

As for the Toronto deal... I doubt they move Fields and Johnson before the deadline... they just signed Fields last off-season! How many free agents will want to go to Toronto when they don't even keep you for 1 season after you agree to sign? They have to overpay now to get a free agent! It will be much worse if they trade someone they just signed

Johnson is doing extremely well for them...and he has grown as a player since he was a Piston... we could do a lot worse if we're looking for a back-up PF/C

The fact that Fields does not fit here makes it a poor trade for us... we need a perimeter shooter (at least one) to space the floor for our guards and bigs... Singler is not the answer... neither is Fields

I don't think Toronto will trade Amir. He's actually been really good in toronto. He's developed a lot more here than when he was in Detroit . I think he'd fit in well in Detroit, but Fields kills it for me.
Singler is a better option and he only costs a fraction of what fields does.

This.

Sorry guys, but Amir has been the heart and soul of the Raptors the last few seasons and has been our best big man and one of our best players this season based on his Defensive impact and Offensive efficiency and hustle plays! True warrior.
Props to TZ for the sig:
