I admit I didn't want him, but he's meant much more to the team than I would have ever thought. Hope he keeps it up the entire season.

Yep, I am being proven right so far.

20.6 minutes played, .469 FG%, .491 FT%, a massive 5.1 RPG, 0.9 BPG, and 4.1 PPG.

I think we still overpaid.

No matter what he hasn't done this year, you know a team like Boston, Miami or OKC will want him, given the garbage they have at the position. They've got to wait till the offseason though and I'm almost positive we deal him to a contender.

How do I know that? If I was those three teams, I'd like my garbage a lot more than Haywood.

He was decent in November, but has fell off ridiculously since then. No way he gets off the bench for OKC, highly unlikely with Boston, which needs another rebounder, and he probably just moves ahead of Joel Anthony in the rotation for Miami. Not seeing any team making a move for Woody, honestly.

So look at defensive rebound percentage. Haywood's eighth on our team...

Brendan Haywood to pay 1-year power bills for 15 women moving from shelters to other housing. Quite a gesture from #bobcats center.

Oh dang. I hope that doesn't mean stress fracture. I was hoping to ship him to a contender for a late first (yes that's possible- Miami or OKC would love to have someone like him)

Also this thread needs to be titled "Driftwood- Why the hell am I racking up DNPs for the Bobcats?"

This injury happened later than I expected. I thought he was going to spend the majority of the season after the first month riddled with injuries. Either way he was still in and out of the lineup day-to-day as if he was injured.

Haywood was a real key to the 7-5 start this season, looking like he'd been hooked to the juvenation machine. now he lurches around like he's made of wood.

Was a good, and still is a good signing. 2 million a year for a 7 footer who can contribute 10-15 minutes a game is a bargain.

If this means more Diop, this could only be a good thing. :D

Give him a nice break so he is fit by next year, I believe he will be a tradeable asset at his cheap price.

You now we're a horrible team when the idea of seeing Diop play for the rest of the season makes me very excited. Otherwise, I can't wait for our season to end.

I think Driftwood's time in Charlotte is as good as done. Who trades for him? Obviously a contender in need of a big body would love to have him. Boston? Miami? OKC? LA?

NJ?

GSW?

2m is a tradeable asset imo, he'll give a contender a valuable 12-15mpg.

EDIT-New York also, there will be a market for driftwood.
