Price is in a bit of a funk I think, usually the 2nd unit doesn't look THAT bad, does it? Doesn't help that Beal clearly looked a little rusty, some practice and more burn should help with that though.
I have to buy into this concept that we're an elite D now though, I mean the nets were cold...but the team defense has been amazing. I'm impressed. Randy and the coaching staff deserve props for that.
I also Wall to continue shooting, even if he misses some, if they're given him the shot with the clock running down, ain't no reason not to shoot. I have an irrational feeling that it'll come back to him.
Bucks comin up, opportunity to be only 11.5 games back coming up!
The Wiz were +1 when Price was on the court. For the season, they are +2.1 when he's on the court vs when he's off the court. As far as offensive ability, Garrett Temple makes Price look like Chris Paul. Temple should be getting fewer minutes.
But Temple is part of the defensive pressure you saw so I don't agree. Temple could still have some more upside in him. He hasn't been out there that much and more specifically, he hasn't been out there much with this healthy rosters. i.e Wall starting at PG.
Lets not forget he has shown some flashs of offensively as well.
7-12 just a few games ago for 15 pts
And when he was playing PG he had some nice games. 11 asts was his high.
I'm not saying he is the answer. I'm saying since they chose to use him when Beal when out, they should continue to give him opportunities. I'm not saying totally abandon Price as much as am saying I think there is an opportunity to try other people there. And since they have worked Crawford out of the rotation for the most part, now if the time to try Temple in different rolls. May as well while we are here.
Temple is the kind of player who while he does seem to play with confidence, he isn't going to over do it. He is going to play with in the system and tries to give the coach what he is looking for from him at whatever position he is playing.
Temple is a 6-6 strong guard that plays great defense and can play PG or SG. Forgive me if I'm interested in seeing him continue to get an opportunity to find how he can contribute offensively.
As for next game, I wouldn't change anything. Start him again. If it anent broke, don't fix it.
