Forget about all the dudley for Shumpert stuff; because Shump earns basically nothing, couldn't we just flip them a pick and absorb him with our cap space?

I would offer the worse of either our first or the Lakers first this year - expected to be the Lakers pick obviously (13-14 range) but in the unlikely event the Laker pick goes top 3, we'd keep that and give them ours (in that case, prob around 6).

Terrible, terrible, terrible for Knicks. They are contending for a title and need quality players, not draft picks.

^ They've been managing to do quite well without him. One could argue that the biggest benefit this would bring is continued stability, as opposed to being forced to integrate a new player into what they are already doing.

As for value I think it's fair. Nothing stopping them from flipping that lottery pick for something else that fills a more pressing need.

I'm not expecting anything to happen. Maybe Telfair goes somewhere but even when Gortat was whining there wasn't anything about him on the block. Ever since the J-Rich trade it has seemed like they want Gortat to be the franchise center. Scola can't be traded and nobody wants Beasley/Brown/Morris. Should be a quiet deadline.

Would we be interested in W. Chandler?
He tweeted sth that hints at his way out of Denver.

I would like him a lot in Phx!

S.th. like Gortat and Dragic for Chandler and Mozgov works.

They get a nice replacement for both and we get Chandler who has far more upside than Dudley who has an all time high regarding his value.

Mozgov is on an expiring deal, so this saves us approx. another 2,5 million.
With our mediacl staff we could turn Chandler into a future star (again). He is a great defender with scoring ability and good ball handler. Plus he is on a reasonable contract (when healthy).

A Dragic/Chandler/ Tucker trio would be great defensively!

so you want to trade gortat and dragic to get chandler so you can play dragic and chandler together?

Overpaid underachieving veterans is not something the Suns need right now.

Pretty sure he meant Dudley and not Dragic, as he said "Dragic could be replacement for Chandler" or something..

He meant Dudley, but why the heck would we trade two of our best tradable pieces for Chandler and Moz? If Duds and Gortat go together, it better be for something very good. We could get more for them separately from teams trying to make a run at a chip.

And we better make a trade soon, or tell the guys that there is no way in heck they go this season, because their games have been going south recently. This is not helping trade value, and it is hurting confidence all around.

Hi there, have you heard of our nutcase front office that trade anything for cash? There is sooooo much value in getting $2 million + an expiring contract in the trade.

/sigh

I've got a really weird feeling about this one...... like seriously, they're obsessed with "value contracts" over star players.

Some good Dud/Shump chatter.

I don't think it will go down.... but the affection for the fLaker so called Lotto is unfounded. The chance of getting a contributor there, one that does not need 2-3 yrs of seasoning is unsubstantiated by fact.

I think the main debate is how good Shumpert is/can be. I don't think there are many in this draft outside of Noel and may be McLemore that has his capability/potential. But the love affair for hyped up rooks is a strong current here. I think adding one lotto will be enough, provided we are able to add a high quality young vet via trade/FAgency. The draft talent pool is so watered down and homogenous that we are as likely to get a player in the second round who will be as good as one taken in the teens.

Shumpert is expected to be a starting lock down athletic SG. Exactly a puzzle piece needed. He is well worth a 13th pick. We almost have had him instead of Morris. Go back pre injury and see what he was doing as a rook. The guy is loaded with potential and has shown it on the big stage.

I luv the Dud... but I'd hump the Shump.

Sorry, meant Gortat and Dudley for Chandler and Mozgov.

Dudley and Gortat have reached their ceiling, value and talentwise.
Chandler would have far more upside.
Plus the deal saves us 2 million

Coro in todays AZRepublic talks of the Suns interest in Al Jefferson or Gordon Hayward. Makes sense as the Jazz need to move a forward to get time for Favors. So, Gortat and Dudley for Big Al?

Glad the front office of the Knicks isn't run by their fans on their board, they expect a 20PPG scorer or something for Shumpert.

Was thinking if the Suns stood pat I wouldn't be too disappointed. Go after Tyreke Evans or OJ Mayo in free agency if the Suns are unable to land a SG in the draft or if the Suns end up drafting Noels.

Don't understand why Evans is averaging such low numbers compared to his rookie season, I don't feel like the Kings utilize his talents very well. Anyway, here's a cool video I found of Tyreke Evans.

Makes me think if the Suns were able to find two consistent offensive threats we might be a playoff team, we got enough role players, lol. Perhaps Evans and JJ Hickson would strive in Phoenix. As well as getting a solid draft pick I think we'd be a decent team.

Perfect trade scenarios for me would be:

Jared Dudley, Jermaine Oneal & 2nd round for Iman Shumpert & Marcus Camby

Why for suns:
They get the guy they've always wanted in Iman.

Why for Knicks:
They get a solid guy in Jared Dudley on a cheap contract along with salary relive on Jermaine's contract.

2nd trade:
Marcin Gortat, Michael Beasley & Wolves 1st round Pick for Josh Smith

Why for Suns:
They get someone who can attact a superstar player like Horward.. They swing for the fences!!

Why for Hawks:
They get the Center in Gortst who can play next to Al and Josh Smith 2.0 on the offense side of the ball on a cheaper contract.

Suns new lineup:
Dragic
Shumpert
PJ Tucker
Josh Smith
Marcus Camby

Return to Phoenix Suns
