Celtics Fan - What would you want for Millsap or Jefferson?

Post#1 » by RondoFantatic » Mon Feb 11, 2013 5:31 pm

I'm a Celtics fan and wondering who you guys would want for either Millsap or Jefferson...

I would be fine moving Rondo but would you guys want him?

And are you a Rondo Fanatic?

I would do Rondo for Millsap. I would do Millsap for Green too, wanting to drop Marvin Williams too.

I'd do Millsap for Rondo too.

However, I wouldn't take on Jeff Green and his contract- I think that his contract is an albatrose that the Celts are going to have to ride out.

What the Jazz really want is a promising young PG, or a good draft pick to try to pick one up this year. This would probably involve a 3rd or even 4th team.

Would the Celts be willing to send KG or PP to the Clippers if the Jazz gave the Celts either Millsap or Jefferson (both expiring), a 2013 first round pick and a second round pick?

Based off of rumors regarding LAC wanting a scoring big man, Boston wanting to get younger, and a PG for Utah. This trade puts Utah(next year) and LAC(better) into contention.
Ingles is cooked.

Only player Celtics have that I want is Rondo, but to get Him I would assume it would have to be Millsap and Kanter. Tough to trade Kanter but I would do it.
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

I wouldn't trade Kanter to get the last year to year and a half of Rondo and hope that he is back to form. Instead, I would rather sign an average PG (Mo, Sessions, Jack) or rely on the draft to get that PG and keep Favors, Hayward and Kanter together.

Other possibilities include, using the Celtics as a trading partner (assuming that they are ready to rebuild) and the Clippers (assuming they want to make a run for the Championship).

Here is a possibility http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=amxzwds

Another, where the Clips go all in for that Championship http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aujbwe7

In either case the Jazz would give up two first round picks to make it work (to Boston). Watson in for PG insurance as the 3rd PG for Clippers (backup would be Billups), and to make the number of players/salary work.

In the last scenario, the Jazz would surely have to buyout Odom (I think that he could resign with any team, including Clips, after that). This would give the Clips the opportunity to win it all either this year or next (assuming CP3 resigns) and by 2014, in either case, the Clippers would have a nice load of cash to chase free agents after KG and/or PP retire.

The Jazz keep their core, get a very promising young PG, but have to give up some draft picks, buy out Odom and probably overpay for DJ (although he won't prohibit Utah from signing Favors, Hayward, Bledsoe and Kanter). The Jazz could be horrible the next year or two (or perhaps more if these guys don't pan out), or really explode. In either event, I would be interested in watching (especially if they get a new coach).

to be honest i dont really see anything in the boston roster i would want straight across. Its no secret to the league that Rondo is a punkass. You have to consider would he even want to play in utah? would he enjoy having to liv ehere Im not sure Rondo is a good fit in utah, when it comes to utah as a place to live. I think he would be great in the jazz system though. Considering his crap attitude and the fact he probably wouldnt re-sign for utah after his contract (and that the and his agent would probably require a max deal), then add the severity of tearing his acl mid season, (meanign the jazz wouldnt get him back until after the all star break next year, if they were lucky) you throw away another half the season to the injury. Jazz would never go for it, and i dont think i would as a fan either.

Other than rondo, pierce is a cry baby but a good player, but he already said he wants to stay a celtic no matter what. plus hes old and too expensive. Garnett is a good player, not great like he used to be, and is an extremely dirty player. I dont want thtat on my team.
Green is way over paid. A few sports center dunks doesnt mean anything either, he really isnt that good.
Barbosa has nice speed but not much of a passer.
Jason Terry has fallen off, he has been god awful all year.
Bass is mediocre at best, id rather pay millsap or jefferson big dollars to re-sign.
Jared Sullinger is done for the season, wow im totally shocked. a guy with a bad back already out? shocker. no thanks.
wilcox, avery, melo, collins, yea no thanks to any of those either.

Only way the jazz and boston make any kind of deal is if the jazz are a third team involved and are not taking any celtics.

I know there are injury considerations but I would be kind of interested in Bradley and Sullinger. I think KG and Pierce are a little too old for what we are wanting to do.

How about Al Jefferson and Chauncey Billups to Boston, Paul Pierce to the Clippers, and Bledsoe/Butler to the Jazz?

Who says no?

Celtics are in playoff picture, but they still have a draft pick. But they are probably not gonna have that.

I don't even see Al and/or someone else on top, for a straight trade for Rondo or their draft pick.

I just see jazz as wanting good young guys like Bledsoe. I would love to have him on our bench with our young guys, he would be a great pickup. I wish we could have got him.

I don't know what were going to do. I mean we just barely added 3 new starters, and now all of them are not secure for next year. With a couple on the bench who go off contract.

I see us adding 3 new starters next year, and probably removing some of our 2nd round picks in Murphy and Evans. I would like to see Foye and Carroll return, they are just unreplaceable with current players and could easily replace Marivn, or even take bench under hayward.

I think the Clippers need a big man much more than a SF (Butler, Hill, etc). I'd say they deal for KG, but not Pierce.
