I wish Mitch were open to moving Howard. Get something for him while we still can. The thought of re-signing him and making him the center of the franchise long term disturbs me a lot. :-?

The part where the host talks about KG is gold. That is what Howards mentality should be. Garnett got 4 less touches, Dwight is getting 3 less after the trade. Difference championship mentality.

GAME TIME wrote:When Dwight is healthy and on his game, his impact on the game is tremendous. I wouldn't fold my cards on him just yet. Dwight was a beast with Orlando and a disruptive force with his ability to run the floor, alter shots, make quick cuts to the hole on pick and rolls. Dwight size and ability gave the Heat, specifically Lebron and Wade trouble when they try to score on him. I will not give up on him, because his impact on the game could be the best out of anyone in the game. Let Dwight get healthy and give them some time to communicate and straighten things out whatever their needs to be. After the emotion of all this, Dwight (when healthy) could still be our best shot to win a ring in the future, with the exception of a few players.

Ok, now I'm back to ranting about Dwight

I don't think Dwight can recover from this mental beatdown he's taking from everyone.

As a magic fan, I've seen Dwight's game develop over the years and as I watch him on the Lakers this year I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt he is putting no more than 50% effort out on the court. Dude is trolling the **** out of you guys.

Can I tear your labrum, give you back surgery then see what kind of effort you're capable of giving against the best athletes in the world 3 - 4 nights a week?

Nobody is questioning the effort. What's being questioned is the reason for such a poor effort. For a guy that's never had issues giving 100% of himself every single night I can only conclude his subparr effort stems from him physically not being capable of giving more.

How long has it been since Dwight's back surgery? How long has he been cleared to play? Does he need another surgery on his back?

We've seen player play through the Labrum... I'll use LO as an example, because nobody's Kobe... LO wasn't 100% but he still put in the effort. He had sub-par games but he also had highly productive games, and he was a shooter. He had range. Dwight couldn't hit freethrows before the shoulder. He's a catch and dunk guy. Yeah he gets hacked but he's supposed to be the strongest guy in the league.

I was actually sort of feeling bad for Dwight... He's gotten himself into a situation he doesn't have many ways out of.
If he demands a trade, his value and marketability tank. Same thing happens if he pouts and walks. His only win-win scenario is to play hard, commit to the Lakers, sign long term and try to win some rings. But he'd have to swallow some pride... And I just don't think he has any idea how to do that...

But then I hear Rick Fox's statements... I can't say I disagree with anything he said. I don't think anyone knows how bad Dwight's feeling, and maybe guys like Fox shouldn't discount that... But what get's me is I don't see any fire in him either... Except directed at his own team.

I don't think he'll get traded before the deadline unless he's adamant about demanding a trade, but if he continues to play like this, I can see the FO hedging on a max contract. At some point, if you're Mitch and the Buss', you have to figure you have 1 of 2 situations going on, either Dwight's got more going on injury wise that people anticipated and maybe he'll never be 100%, or you have a pouting team cancer that has no real desire to be here unless everyone else is gone... You don't give either the max.

I understand that not giving Dwight the Max essentially means he walks. But at some point, even for a FO like ours, that starts to look like an appealing option.

My theory is that he has always wanted to write his own story, and if he were to win with Kobe, then Dwight would be considered second fiddle to him.

So if he waits a year, and Kobe continues to age and deteriorate, then the Lakers will become Howard's team. The problem is, Kobe hasn't really showed any sign of falling off.

This 100000%... Can we stop with the excuses. WE ALL UNDERSTAND he isnt a 100%. But his lil diva ways with the media. Pouting on the court has waned not just on fans but his teammates. The dude doesnt play with any heart and any desire right now. If he did we wouldnt be a team under 500 right now.

SMH and now he's going to the media again complaining. We know your hurt Dwight but any competitor in the heat of battle is gonna hit that injured area. Your not the first and wont be the last player to go through this while injured smh

Howard told Eric Adelson of Yahoo! Sports that the Heat were grabbing at his injured arm early in the game. “They got me early,” he said. “They would yank it back.” Howard said some of the Charlotte Bobcats players did the same thing on Friday. “It’s like a jolt,” he explained. “Then it hurts the rest of the night.”

I think if dwight focusss on being a defensive beast and a rebound guy the offense will eventually come. He should be getting 10-15 points from offensive rebounds alone.
